Re: Matchday thread
Good to utilise Vydra from off the bench. Hopefully before the 87th minute.

Taylor back. I think Pieters is a bit unlucky.

Re: Matchday thread
Is he playing McNeil drifting central behind Wood?
Re: Matchday thread
People were crying out for quality coming off the bench , now we have it
Re: Matchday thread
Vydra can count himself very unlucky, whilst Westwood and Brownhill should consider themselves very lucky to be starting.

Is that a tactical switch or is Vydra carrying a minor knock?

Holding up the ball/winning free-kicks is the order of the day for Mr Wood.

Pope is a massive loss. Let’s see if BPF can step up.
Re: Matchday thread
We deserve to be dragged back into it. The way we capitulated against Southampton and Newcastle was embarrassing.

If it was down to just a knock then Jay would have been in at 442

Re: Matchday thread
I don’t think 4-5-1 is the correct formation or personnel. You play your in form players and both Wood and Vydra are in form. I think Vydra could’ve given United’s centre halves the run around this afternoon.
It could be a cricket score for them now.

Moving to 4-5-1 is sensible imo.

Re: Matchday thread
I’d play 4-5-1 every game till the end of the season now. We would grind out three draws with that, and I think 36 points is enough.

Re: Matchday thread
Agree to an extent I’m that you play your form players, but one of the biggest criticisms of Dyche is that he sticks with 442 regardless.
Playing 4 in midfield against the 5 of United would have been a mistake

Re: Matchday thread
Peeps were crying out for a change in system, and Cork to return, both are happening so let's see if it improves us from the last couple of outings,
Dwight starts also which is a boost.

Could we have seen the last of Nick Pope? Hopefully not or he’ll miss the Euros. He must be desperate to get out there for us and for himself.

Re: Matchday thread
Yes but it's a couple of matches too late. It cried out for bringing Cork on into a midfield 5 when we were leading at Soton and Newcastle.
Anyway let's see how it goes. Without Pope I fear for us today - I'm afraid to say.

Re: Matchday thread
Not even sure a midfield 5 was needed against Newcastle or Soton - the obvious change for me was Cork for JBG and Brownhill tucking in on the right.nil_desperandum wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 3:37 pmYes but it's a couple of matches too late. I also fear the worst without Pope between the sticks. We know that on the day he’s capable of winning points single handedly. Let’s hope this is BPF’s moment.

Re: Matchday thread
Luke Shaw looked like he played him on? No VAR check? No lines? No discussion? Do we need Scottie as our manager for that?

Brownhill looks like he is pushing up to support Wood when possible.
Re: Matchday thread
Lee Dixon said it was incredibly tight and he thought Wood was onside. No VAR I suspect tells you he was onside

Re: Matchday thread
Why aren't we playing to the same rules as in the Arsenal Fluham game?
Why are we zooming in on Luke Shaw's toenails to double check that offside???

Re: Matchday thread
Looked very tight with Shaw. Probably marginally off. But as you say should be shown properly and reviewed.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:05 pmLuke Shaw looked like he played him on? No VAR check? No lines? No discussion? Do we need Scottie as our manager for that?

I thought VAR checked all goals? He was offside BTW, but what was Henderson doing there.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sun Apr 18, 2021 4:05 pmLuke Shaw looked like he played him on? No VAR check? No lines? No discussion? Do we need Scottie as our manager for that?

Decent first 10min but still passing the ball away needlessly far too often.
