Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season games confirmed
I think the two at the training ground will probably be fairly local clubs - and then any that follow will be dependent on travel restrictions I would have thought.

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season games confirmed
I've just seen this line from our club about the third of those friendlies: "Dyche and his backroom staff then return to former club Forest to face the double European champions at the City Ground on Saturday, 31 July." Does that mean it's our backroom staff playing some of their 1970s players?

Presumably there'll be tickets available? I'm thinking of the Forest game - I have to be near Nottingham on the 1st, so I could go a day earlier.

Just been looking at getting the train to Oldham and looks a right ballache.
Train to Manny then a tram to Oldham and then a bus or 20 minute walk.

Forest for me definitely, assuming we're allowed in and being relatively local, and Blackpool possibly.

It's just what I saw on google that's all. If you google Fc Rostov Burnley that's what it comes up with.

Quite often the pre-season plans alter over the summer … more so at the moment for obvious reasons . I can think of a couple of occasions in recent years when the fixtures have changed at the last minute.

can't imagine we'd have a game then on Friday 16th in Austria if we're only arriving back in on Thursday 8th.

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season games confirmed
The plans have changed. I think they were initially planning to go to Austria on Mon 12th July with a game on the Friday but looks as if we aren't going away now with first pre-season games to be played at the training ground.diamondpocket wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 10:34 amcan't imagine we'd have a game then on Friday 16th in Austria if we're only arriving back in on Thursday 8th.

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season games confirmed
To be fair all things bring equal we probably would have as it is the pattern we’ve followed before. Certain countries are still a problem right now and there are still worries about isolation rules etc surrounding training camps within the gamediamondpocket wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 10:34 amcan't imagine we'd have a game then on Friday 16th in Austria if we're only arriving back in on Thursday 8th.

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season games confirmed
fair enough, I always thought we had a game at the end of a second week of training not the first week, as I'd imagine the first few days are just testing and gathering data on the lads' current fitness levels.

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season games confirmed
He's changed that in more recent years. In Dyche's first pre-season we played at Morecambe before going to Cork and the training camp. Now he seems to prefer the trip first as we did with Portugal two years go.diamondpocket wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 10:46 amfair enough, I always thought we had a game at the end of a second week of training not the first week, as I'd imagine the first few days are just testing and gathering data on the lads' current fitness levels.

Yes the first couple of days I think - the players pretty much keep themselves in shape these days much more so than in the past , quite a few have kind of held their own private pre-pre-season over recent summersdiamondpocket wrote: ↑Sun Jul 04, 2021 10:46 amas I'd imagine the first few days are just testing and gathering data on the lads' current fitness levels.

Another trip to Cork would be fab. I couldn’t go last few times.
Looking forward to the game at Notts forest too - as long as we’re allowed in the ground.

Any talk of whether we’ll be able to go to the three away friendlies yet?

Latest update on the Oldham website but no word on whether we can attend:
It is still expected that the club can finally welcome supporters back to the ground the following weekend as normal for the Burnley pre-season friendly (24th July - 1pm KO), with ticket details to be confirmed in due course.

Oldham are planning for us to go in but are awaiting information regarding what they are allowed to do.
Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season games confirmed
Ah excellent, my daughter has took a little interest in football the last few weeks asking about rules, players and saying she wouldnt mind watching a game, so itll be nice to take her on a quieter more relaxed game to she if she likes it.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Jul 13, 2021 2:12 pmOldham are planning for us to go in but are awaiting information regarding what they are allowed to do.
She had a season ticket for a couple of seasons, but got bored and/or fell asleep, and only went on a few times, however she was only about 4.
We shall try again.

Oldham pre season friendly.
As anyone heard anything about whether we will get any away allocation in this friendly? I rang up our ticket office who told me to contact oldham themselves which I thought was bizzare as we’ve never had to contact the opposition club for info.
With the PM stating that all grounds will be back to full capacity and the game just over a week away what are we waiting for? Or am I missing something?

Re: ARTICLE: Pre-season games confirmed
Still nothing on the Oldham game from either club but Blackpool have announced details for their friendly with Rangers next week. Away fans will be permitted.
Hopefully that’ll be the case when we play them the Tuesday after. Can’t see a reason why it can’t.

Pre Season Friendly Tickets
Any news ? The Oldham game is just over 1 week away. Id of thought we would take a decent following as we have waited so long without any live football (Apart from those lucky enough to get on the Liverpool game).
Also do we know if there are any entry requirements, being double jabbed etc ? I hope not.

Considering it's Glasgow Fair Monday on the 19th you could well be correct, also smack bang in the middle of the school holidays in Scotland, so they'll no doubt be the usual swarm of Scots descending on Blackpool again.Jimmymaccer wrote: ↑Wed Jul 14, 2021 6:50 pmI guess 40,000 will travel from Scotland for the Blackpool game………..avoid at all cost…..
