Blues are blubbing about an unfair financial advantage for other clubs. Wow. The irony!

Worth remembering we play in a league which is flawed massively where we are expected to compete with sides who's failure to stay in the league above us, wins them £147m.
To think, we have to compete in this unfair league season after season and people are unhappy we finish midtable.
Its a real achievement season after season to stay in that position, in such an unfair league where 5 clubs have a massively unfair advantage over the rest of us.
Fulham, WBA and Bournemouth simply stock pile all the best players at this level.
This lad will barley play for Bournemouth. And we simply can't compete with wages or a fee.
Every season unless this changes, the same 3 will simply go up, then come back down.
Its boring and predictable.

We always want more as fans and there is still room for improvement in a couple of positions but this is a very decent window, fingers crossed all the signings are successful ones and we get the best out of them.

All down to what a club will pay, keeps playing like he is and he could be worth more than that to us, but we may never see that.claretburns wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:35 pmDan James, 50 Premier League appearances, 6 goals, 7 assists, moves to Leeds for £25,000,000
Dwight McNeil, 99 Premier League appearances, 7 goals, 16 assists, potential valuation? Surely north of £40,000,000 in the current market?
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Very decent window for us so far. Best that I can remember for some time.
Would be amazing if we got in another attacking midfielder too.

Any midfielder attacking or not at the moment, don't think we can rely on Mr Stephens staying fit all season.

Can you tell me how come to 40 million based on that comparison?claretburns wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:35 pmDan James, 50 Premier League appearances, 6 goals, 7 assists, moves to Leeds for £25,000,000

We only have one place left in the squad. (2 if Dwight still counts as a homegrown U23).

Yes I am and here’s why; I’d rather be in debt and getting investment which keeps us in the Prem, than be debt free dropping down through the divisions. Once the parachute payments are finished then so are we. The longer we don’t heave to rely on them the better.

It's U21 I think. Have you included Nathan Collins? He's 20.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:45 pmWe only have one place left in the squad. (2 if Dwight still counts as a homegrown U23).

Do we need three right backs (plus Collins who can cover there)? Maybe Bardsley could be leaving.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:45 pmWe only have one place left in the squad. (2 if Dwight still counts as a homegrown U23).

Isn't Collins Irish? Or is it as long as under 21?

McNeil is 2 yrs younger, his contract runs until 2024 with the option of a further year.
Dan James' contract ran until 2024
Dwight McNeil is first choice, played twice the amount of games for us as James did for Utd.
McNeil will step up when he leaves, James has stepped down.
These details matter.

Yeah but he was at Stoke from 2016 so I think he still falls under the home grown rule, that's how Arsenal managed it with the likes of Fabregas.

3 RBs and Southgate won't be able to keep away. Even if none play for England.

Plus I would add in there, in terms of goals and assists, James played in a much stronger line up at United than Dwight does at Burnley and has more chances in games in attacking phases to contribute and apart from pace, he lacks in all other departments.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:51 pmMcNeil is 2 yrs younger, his contract runs until 2024 with the option of a further year.

You are only allowed 17 who are not home grown but we've only got Guðmundsson, Cornet, Pieters & Vydra who aren't.Quickenthetempo wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:51 pmYes, I thought they had to be home grown to not count?

I'd genuinely forgotten he plays for us. Was thinking we only had one back up centre midCnBtruntru wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:44 pmAny midfielder attacking or not at the moment, don't think we can rely on Mr Stephens staying fit all season.
Re: Summer 2021 Transfer Window Rumours - Links - Discussion
Be just like us to sign someone and then find we have to exclude someone from the 25 although if we do not have to name Collins we are presently 24 if we include Glennon
I thought the age thing was under 21 on Jan 1st of the upcoming season ie Jan 2021 which make Glennon and McNeil 21 years, one month and a few days

I half expected one of our forward players to leave though.

Of course you know him. It's that shady character that goes to all the games. You know the one?

Not like us at all though. Not something we've ever done. That was Palace with Holloway, so many signings, five or six players were left out of the squad.mdd2 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 31, 2021 2:58 pmBe just like us to sign someone and then find we have to exclude someone from the 25 although if we do not have to name Collins we are presently 24 if we include Glennon

Definitely looking good. We’ve kept our best players, strengthened the squad and started to regenerate. Clearly we haven’t got everything we need in the medium term but should have enough to stay up and continue the rebuilding job in the next few windows

Number 10 on loan from a Premier League club on big money.
Barkley, Loftus-Cheek, Lingard, Winks, van de Beek, Minamino, Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Any of the above?

Lingard you’d expect will be snapped up if it comes to light he’s available.
Barkley you’d think is more likely being a northerner as well.
Barkley could be outstanding if Dyche could get a tune out of him.

Minamino would be superb.
However we don't seem to have a good rapport with Liverpool.
