Re: Everton (A) Match Thread
All this season we've played well for an hour then faded, it's no coincidence and I said so after the Brighton game.
He needs to bring the subs on on the hour mark, especially if we are winning. We are chucking points away out of SDs stubbornness.
Potter and now Benitez making the good calls while we do nothing

Re: Everton (A) Match Thread
Brighton in the lead he can’t match their subs they win
Leeds Nick a point after we sit back
Everton exactly the same. Can’t match subs. Even the commentators are noting it.
Edit - Lennon is on we will win 4-3 panick over
Something has to change from Dyche.

Looking forwards to having multiple threads all wanting to have the same whinge, or have Dyche out etc etc after the game ends.

For 3 minutes
Re: Everton (A) Match Thread
Wood was miles offside and blocked him off, clearly interfering with play, not even debatable.

Exactly why Dyche will never get a "top" job. He's not proactive when in a good position, and not even reactive when other teams make changes. It was obvious what was going to happen when they put an extra man in the middle, yet he preserveres fronting them up with only two tiring sets of legs.

Can someone please explain the disallowed goal? Wood and Barnes didn't even challenge for the ball.

Just shows what complete nonsense this "Dyche fit" is.. we fade in games, the opposition get stronger..Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 9:33 pmAll this season we've played well for an hour then faded, it's no coincidence and I said so after the Brighton game.

Fail to see why that was ruled out, Pickford ran into Wood and was nowhere near the ball.
VAR does it’s job tonight and it’s 3-3 now, if not more complimentary than that.

Cork should have replaced Barnes when Gomez came on. Not rocket science. Just outnumbered us in midfield

Even the first 55 mins. The quality on the ball is pathetic at this level.
Tactics entail get the ball and hope an inch perfect cross lands on one our big lads head.
I think this is the season we are down. We desperately need some quality in key areas.

What is the debate here? Wood was miles offside, he interfered with play. I don't understand the confusionsuperdimitri wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 9:36 pmBlocked Pickford off? Pickford was miles out. Don't think Wood even knew he was there.

Wood and Tarkowski offside when the cross came in
Re: Everton (A) Match Thread
Absolutley no movement off the ball, midfield disappeared....we really are becoming nothing more than quite thuggish.

Both were in offside positions but Wood clearly impeded Pickford who was coming out from goal.superdimitri wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 9:35 pmCan someone please explain the disallowed goal? Wood and Barnes didn't even challenge for the ball.
He was therefore correctly flagged for offside.

Re: Everton (A) Match Thread
Dyche has a complete lack of tactical imagination but has done extremely well for us with his 4-4-2. The two statements can both apply.
He has to learn and grow.
Managers like Bielsa and Benitez can outsmart him. Benitez switching formation on equalising was a masterstroke.

Re: Everton (A) Match Thread
No it was standard Burnley (recently) have plenty of the ball in good positions but poor quality in the final third resulted in a fairly easy showing for the opposition team.
Let’s not confuse things, Everton we’re in second gear. They then turned it on and absolutely blew us away

Re: Everton (A) Match Thread
Wow, there’s some complete bell ends posting on here tonight.
Aside from the townson wonderstrike, both of Everton’s goals came because we had lost our shape. , mee on the first dragged out wide leaving wood and Barnes in centre half positions, on the 3rd the back line and midfield lines had over committed and were punished.

The Dyche out brigade hibernate until a loss away at Everton then come raging out. They’ll go back to sleep around April when we are safely entrenched in 15th again.
You’d think after 5/6 years of the same outcome happening they’d learn their lesson, but it was ever thus.

In all the three games we have been leading the opposition have thrown another midfielder on and we fall apart. Outnumbered in midfield. Dyche seems not to have caught on to this as yet. Not sure he will. Tactical dinosaur.
