4 teams dragged into it with two wins

Post by Milltown1882 » Wed Feb 23, 2022 9:27 pm

2 points behind Newcastle with a game in hand
2 points behind Everton
3 behind Leeds with 2 games in hand
4 points behind Brentford with three games in hand

Incredible how much the picture can change in such a short space of time with back to back wins.

We'll comfortably stay up. You all need to stop panicking.

Not really. There’s been half a league in the battle all season. All that’s changed is we are catching our games up.

Still think Everton will be OK but the other three are catchable. Always fancied Brentford for the drop.

Everton can be in the bottom 3 before they kick off at the weekend !

I’m thinking Leeds look most likely to join Norwich and Watford if we carry on playing as well as this.

Gutted I couldn't make the game tonight. The two home games that Burnley have won this season I have not been able to attend. The last home game I saw Burnley win was against Leicester in January 2020. Hopefully lightning will strike twice next Tuesday when we play them at home and I'll be able to attend. That aside, let's remember that this is the 1st time that Burnley have won back to back games since last January (Liverpool & Aston Villa). That must be a massive step forward for the team. I said the other day the next target was achieving back to back wins. Being able to achieve this now is a good omen for the rest of the season. Still a lot of work to do, but we now have a group of teams in our sights again and some of them are on sticky runs. Momentum is key and we look to have found some of that.

Brentford is a big game.
We're 4 points behind, having played 3 fewer.

Their next three: Newcastle, Norwich then us!

Only boost for Brentford is their main striker is back now. He may give them a Wout type of shot in the arm we've had..
