That's a decent gate for a mid table team

Bet our average home attendances weren't much different in the pre-Coyle and pre-Dyche seasons and if we spend a decade outside the top flight we'll do well to average above 12k at home

Correct and that is the point of the whole argument, it's the same for Burnley, PNE & RoversDevils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 7:00 pmBet our average home attendances weren't much different in the pre-Coyle and pre-Dyche seasons and if we spend a decade outside the top flight we'll do well to average above 12k at home
When we were there it was small town, crap supporters. Now the shoe is on the other foot it's our owners, it's not us.

Think the so-called boycott has fizzled out now. It was always pretty half-hearted.
Even the dimmest Rovers fan must have twigged by now that if there ain't no Venkys, there ain't no Rovers.

Re: Massive gate down the road
Not sure what argument you're having with who but what I mainly see on threads like this is hypocrisy and a lack of self awareness though I dont doubt other teams fans are equally as bad and Id see the same on their fan sites.
Going on about attendances, size of towns and who has the best and proper fans seems a bit childish to me but each to their own.

While we are the subject of attendances, could anyone take a photo of the programme against Stoke which I presume would have the crowds for the games this season?

Re: Massive gate down the road
We seemed to have attacked more supporters after our
6 seasons in the premier League. The last time we got relegated the gates dropped dramatically but not this time.
When Rovers where riding high 20 years ago they used to ship them in from North Lancashire and South Lakes offering free transport and cheap tickets, they soon disappeared when it went tits up

Re: Massive gate down the road
Don't care how many they got on but, but it would be nice for us to win 3-0 at home.
Re: Massive gate down the road
Let’s see how great their support is as the season goes on and they inevitably get relegated.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 8:27 pmRead on a Coventry fans forum that all though large in numbers our support was pish poor today.

Yes, and some of the attendances are missing that is why I'm asking for a photo.

Re: Massive gate down the road
Off point this please forgive but one of the likes on this post was from Houseclaret. That was my name on another site for years but when I tried originally to sign up here with it I was told it was taken. No problem obviously but in the years since I don’t recall seeing a post from him/her. I have often wondered if they exist. Now I know.ElectroClaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 08, 2022 7:07 pmThink the so-called boycott has fizzled out now. It was always pretty half-hearted.

Re: Massive gate down the road
Was looking on a site a week or so ago about various attendances in different leagues. Ours this season is apparently averaging around 19.5k, a thousand up on last seasons total average.

More than we were getting early on in our 2013/14 promotion season.
