Maybe but I suspect this was more due to the mini revival under Mike Jackson, than these two being dominant together as a pair. Westwood got injured in the first game at WHU under MJ, and the other two played in all the remaining games.Jack has been a very effective CM this season, with great distribution but in the PL constantly gets bullied and dispossessed. Josh has more aggression and is great at pressing and breaking play, but lacks the close control and distribution for a regular PL player. And for an attacking midfielder his shooting is poorroperclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 8:37 pmDidn’t we average over 2 points per game last season across the games where Cork and Brownhill started together?

Cork has Bly got bullied and dispossessed because 9 times out of 10 he was one of 2 midfielders up against 3 for the opposition. Not the most reliable source but taken from news now which quotes the daily mail:- West Brom, Swansea and Burnley all want to sign Brighton’s 18-year-old striker Evan Ferguson on loan, according to The Daily Mail.

Surridge being considered for Olympiacos allegedly... though that's likely to be an exercise to increase the price for anyone seriously interested https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/footbal ... r-AA160h0z

It just occurred to me, that Burnley is a better prospect than Bournemouth. No guarantee, but we'll likely be swapping places in 5 months, and a choice of playing for Kompany or Jones....Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Wed Jan 04, 2023 2:30 pmI’d be very surprised if we signed Semenyo, Bournemouth are about to start throwing a bit of cash around I believe and they are rumoured to be interested. I would have thought that the fee would be too high for us even if we were the only club in. Maybe a bit of Billy bullshitting is going on to get who we actually want here

Again not a rumour but a suggestion Dante Vanzeir Union SG in Belgium. He got 15 goals and 10 assists in 2021/2022 season and is proving to be a hit again this season. He is considered to link up well, has good technical ability, a proven goal scorer and could work very effectively with our wide men. Not sure of his likely price but VK will surely be aware of him.

Only problem with anyone from that club is that Tony Bloom owns them and will ferry anything of value over to Brighton I think.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Oh I hadn't realised that. That would be a major problem, Its rumoured that MLS New York were making a 5m euros bid for him, surely he would be worth a punt at that price. I believe he plays as CF but can also be a winger and is right footed.jedi_master wrote: ↑Thu Jan 05, 2023 5:14 pmLooks a good player and has posted fantastic numbers for 2.5 seasons now. Anyway, after Maatsens free kick the other day I reckon (hope) we won't see Josh stood over a free kick again.

I’ve no issue with Brownhill standing over a free kick, just as long he’s the decoy and not the taker!
