Would hope we’d be in for him if that’s the case.

He looks like he could be a class act.
If we can’t negotiate a permanent for Maatsen then I think he will return on loan.

Add to that the potential loan to buy deal for Lokonga from Arsenal, we won’t be able to bring another loan in from a Premier league side.

Palmer looks a good player , would city let him leave permanently with a buy back?

I think he will join Sheff Utd on loan

Not Burnley related but Brentford have made a £30m offer for Brennan Johnson. I must say that surprised me. Forest saying not close to their valuation. Mental that a club like Brentford is now offering £30m for players.
For me one of the brightest prospects to break into the PL this season, and apparently one of the quickest players in the PL.Suspect Forest will not even put a value on his head as they will keep him at all costs

You’re so argumentative though. Literally won’t let something go and have to reply 7 8 or 9 times to try and prove your point. It doesn’t matter! what’s the fricking point of constantly going on and on over something that’s so trivial! (Cue “well he’s the one going on and on and you don’t say anything to hiiimmm”). You’re like a 6 year old child.
Anything person commenting which is carrying the argument on, like I just said to whiffa the thread had moved on then they commented and now you, if you think I’m like a 6 year old child why are you rising to it, relax

True, without an adequate replacement he's simply too important for forest to lose, he's 1 of them players I think with a second good season under his belt the big boys will come knocking & then forest will have a decision to make, so far he's relatively under the radar in terms of outside serious interest.

Which?

Whichever it is, no.

So what! Load up newsnow if that is all you're after. It's not the 70's anymore.

The PL and EFL, have agreed a new criteria for foreign signings.
No longer will players have to meet a work permit criteria.
Clubs can sign ANY 4 players from abroad. In exchange clubs will have to improve the pathway for British talent. If they don't then penalties, including reducing the number of foreign players a club can sign, will be imposed.

It's the same for every club, but it does widen the pond we can fish in.

Goodness me. Imagine Wolves will sell for that amount. Sadly the lack of profit will probably mean no £ for us.

Fair enough, fwiw.

I think I was kicking off about people criticizing other people for discussion (which the title warns will happen).

A great time to be a claret talking about transfers. It's almost like Stan is in charge again with the number of links.

Wise but that he believes his preference is still to play for Kompany, so let’s see how it all goes!

yep, Nixon was saying both us and Brighton don't want to get into an auction for him so maybe we all say it's 13 and leave it up to the player. Still, 13 for a keeper is a good chunk of change for us !! Makes you wonder how much we could potentially spend this summer

Cole Palmer is a superb player. Of all the City players in and around the fringes I think he's the best. Other than needing to improve his final ball during his development, I think he's got it all

I'd take him ahead of any of the other potential loan players. Without doubt. And that includes Tella

The problem with any loan is they take up one position meaning we can’t develop one of our own for resale.

I’d prefer it if our loans were either players that were levels above us who would improve us so much it’s worth the sacrifice (e.g. Phillips) or had an option to buy (e.g. rumoured Lokonga deal). I’m not sure Palmer would fall under either category… maybe the first, I’m not sure.

we have been promoted since 8th April some 68 days ago so we will have loads of irons in the fire but VK in a ideal world would like any new signings ASAP as he is so particularly of integrating the squad and I presume because of the way our pre season has been planned any new player/s even if signed today will be slightly behind the group already. Some players last season fit in seamlessly and some like Twine, Mcnally and Foster integrated at a slower pace - be a interesting few weeks ahead guys.

I love how some fans have the ability to read VKs mind. Can I learn to do this please? How do you go about it?

Harsh! I’m not sure he was saying anything more than the obvious. All managers want their summer signings in early so they can adapt and be fully integrated.

I don't think it's a particularly hot take to say VK prefers integrating new players sooner rather than later. Probably the same of any manager to be honest.

I’d guess we’re unlikely to sign anyone whilst VK is away but that time between them coming back and starting the second part of pre-season will likely be critical

I don’t think you have to be too adept at reading minds to understand that most managers would like their squad sorted asap.

Drameh been linked by Romano and now Sacha. Definitely an interesting one given we already have Roberts and Vitinho.

From what I’ve seen of Drameh I’d say he’s more athletic and quicker than those two so perhaps Kompany is wanting to add that to our squad.

I think Vitinho will either play the role of utility man, or he’ll be the back up left back.

I could see this lad being brought in for potentially a RWB role with a back 3 formation.

I know we haven’t played that way under VK but maybe he’s looking at options ahead of the new season.

I agree he kinda reminds me of a cheap man’s Walker. Very athletic and quick

Or will he be the guy left back at the training ground when the players travel

Isn't that just if he were to join a European club?

I think we'd have to agree a fee with Bristol City or go to tribunal (assuming they have offered him a deal)

Bristol City have offered a new deal that he has turned down. It's explained here...

I read City are not sending MacAtee out on loan this season as they want him to develop with the squad. I must be missing something as he’s never appeared at that level in any game I’ve seen him.

That's why they are not sending him out because the timing is not right.

I’m not really that interested in loans unless we have an option to buy. Feels like we end up raising the value of a player we then can’t afford to buy ( I’m looking at you Ian and Nathan). Better to take a risk on an undervalued player from Europe… also there is no pressure to keep playing them to keep their parent club happy.

Can't believe it's the 2nd day of the window and we haven't signed at least 3 players

If you get a loan player like Diallo for example and his performances help keep you in the league then raising value for his parent club is worth it, having clauses like we had for Beyer is the perfect scenario but id imagine if we didn’t have a clause for Beyer he would of been 20mil this summer

Their still in Portugal I believe, could be a reason why, I'd expect thing's to get going once vinnys back, and could be another reason why he's planned it this way, their on a break on their return but I'd guess vinny will be hard at work during that 10 days.

I guess my point is Diallo is no safer bet than the sort of players Kompany has managed to find. He is not an established prem league striker. He is a kid that might (or might not) come good next season. And in 12 months we are in no better place and we’ve 1 less year of VK.
