In the final year of his contract
Mind you, so was Gyorokes and they got £24 million for him

It was €24m and with a chunk of that in bonuses. Still a fair amount though.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 3:42 pmIn the final year of his contract

I’d imagine they will want between £10-15m for Hamer, with them wanting McNally I wonder if that will play a part.

Me too. Last year of his contract.
Hamer is a very good player I think. I really enjoy watching him play. I’d be disappointed if we shelled out more than I’d expect for McNally though.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
If McNally plays a part in a p/x plus cash for Hamer or Fleming, which one would you prefer?

His agent is trying to get him a pay rise. I wouldn't be surprised if this is agent talk and nothing more.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 3:31 pmLinked to Coventry's Hamer in the Telegraph but can't see as behind paywall.

Never seen a fan base as obsessed with their players as Coventry fans, ‘no way hamer is leaving, he loves the club’
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
If THB is an option for 15m, there's a better player, Zeno Debast is tipped as the next Kompany/Alderweireld. Awesome talent with an outstanding technique. He's like a playmaker playing in the back. Probably could cost up to 20 but he's sure worth it. Next big thing coming from Belgium. I rate him very highly. As good as THB is, he's still a notch better.

He’s a good little player - emphasis on the little. I think we need height and physicality in there. I am surprised at the number of links to the league below, there is little value there as it’s become really expensive. I’d far rather further offshore punts than the likes of Flemming, Hamer etc on over-inflated prices.

They were saying the same about Gyokeres - shortly before he said to the Swedish media that he wanted to move on.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 3:59 pmNever seen a fan base as obsessed with their players as Coventry fans, ‘no way hamer is leaving, he loves the club’

Deffo more than a strong interest from us. Was told about this on Friday. No idea what fee we are being quoted though. Imagine it will be hefty based on what they are getting for VG but imagine McNally will be a relevant factor in the deal.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 3:31 pmLinked to Coventry's Hamer in the Telegraph but can't see as behind paywall.
Also got told that we were in for Ryan Manning last week. Not heard an update since but he and his agent did meet with us at the back end of last week. Was all set to join Leeds until our interest. Imagine he will want to get sorted soon as pre season now we’ll underway at most clubs.

Not surprised he’s not short of suitors after the season he had, and available on a free. Southampton deal would make sense for him playing under Martin again.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 4:16 pmManning has been at southamptons training ground today according to the athletic

I guess that all depends on his opinion of Martin who seems to be Marmite.LongsideClaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 4:28 pmNot surprised he’s not short of suitors after the season he had, and available on a free. Southampton deal would make sense for him playing under Martin again.
If it's a choice between Martin and VK and he chooses Southampton then obviously they get on well.
If we can match Southampton's wages then he should come here and try his hand at PL football. He's be a great signing for us on a free, so we should be able to offer good wages.

As long as he’s good on the ball pein.

Very good player is Hamer, reminds me of Carlos tevez. Could definitely see him making the step up

I think Hamer and Manning are good players. Would be happy with both but looks as though we've missed out on Manning now (or maybe we have another left back in mind and have willingly let him go elsewhere).

Mcnally and £7m I'd say tops, Mcnally worth £5m, hamer I'd say £12m

The story yesterday said he won’t let him leave in the summer window, but I hope you’re right.summitclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 11, 2023 6:43 pmWants him or wants to assess him?
Or it could just be a negotiating ploy, like us being linked to other left backs. I have a hunch that IM will be here in August.
Id take the other young lad Hall though if Maatsen gets ahead of him.

Ryan manning officially joined Southampton now
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Didn't some "ITK" suggest he will sign for us?
They do not play in same positions?
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Russell Martin on Ryan Manning: “We've beaten competition from two clubs in the Premier League for him, which I'm really pleased about, because I thought the lure of that would make it difficult for us, but he's come here because he knows the work and he believes in it.”
Sounds like we could have been one of those clubs?

If Manning wasn’t going to be first choice that could have put him off.
Plenty of other of our very good players won’t be first choice for us so it isn’t an unrealistic thing to have happened. Not necessary Soton being the bigger draw.

Weghorst re-linked with Everton. I just can’t see Dyche wanting him after failing to get him to work here?

I actually refuse to believe Dyche wants to sign him. I think that article has just rehashed an old rumour as it makes a vague mention of Turkish clubs interest too.

Only thing that makes a bit of sense is Everton can’t have a lot of cash… but really need a striker.
