The most important 2 weeks of our window now with no game, get the last bits of the squad together and we are good to go

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Sigh
Last season was when he’d stepped up and he was meant to play regularly in the championship so he could develop and then step up into the PL with us
He missed 20 league games with injury, then had to regain fitness etc, so he basically missed a year of development in the championship
So it makes sense that he’s loaned out so he can have that year of development
This is really simple football stuff to understand but for whatever reason it’s just passing you by

I think you have misread the messages. I am not the one suggesting he would be an integral part of our premier league campaign that was Elizabeth. I have since the start of the summer said he won’t feature for us this yearGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 8:57 pmSigh

Yes and you tried to point score without understanding that the reason he’s gone on loan is because he’s missed a season of developmentNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 8:59 pmI think you have misread the messages. The reason he’s gone on loan is because he’s not good enough for the prem. he will be loaned for this season to get his value up and be sold next season.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 9:03 pmYes and you tried to point score without understanding that the reason he’s gone on loan is because he’s missed a season of development

Lot of chatter about Brownhill based on a pretty weak Daily Express rumour.

Despite Brownys brother (who is besides himself at some of the rubbish he’s read today) replying directly to him, he’s still arguing.

Burnley looking to sign Sergio Akieme for 18m euros. Potentially to be done in the coming days according to an Almeria Journo
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Sounds like it’s between us and Nice. Santi is usually reliable and said Nice were set to sign him earlier today. Obviously this report conflicts that.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 10:24 pmBurnley looking to sign Sergio Akieme for 18m euros. Wonder if it’s a case of dodgy translation and it means to say Burnley where interested but he is signing for nice

Watching ‘Mission to Burnley’ for a second time. Why isn’t Tella back at the club? I know there have been threads but the guy is incredible.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Well we've managed 11 so far, there's still two and half weeks to go till the window closes, and generally clubs do most of their transfer business in the final 48 hours as there's a domino effect when one transfer triggers another.LaLigaClaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 8:07 pm
It seems increasingly difficult for us to get players over the line lately.
By the time we finally sign a LB, and with Ramsey and a couple of others to come, it seems likely that we will have brought about 15 players in by the time the window closes, which is way more than any of us expected.
Edit: Forgot - we've still got the option of 2 loan players as well.

Agreed. He would make all the difference to us. It doesn't matter how many goals he scored in the Prem for Southampton. They are not us.LoveCurryPies wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 11:26 pmWatching ‘Mission to Burnley’ for a second time. Why isn’t Tella back at the club? Watch out chaps. Some will accuse you of being romantic about a former player, whilst conveniently forgetting he was an absolute baller for us, but he isn't prem ready, because relegated Southampton said so.
I would love him to come back. Offers something different than all the boys last year and the new comers.
But what do I know, the experts on here tell us he isn't good enough for the Prem.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
For @swizzlestick, apologies if my post about reading newspapers to find out about accurate transfer news upset you. However my perceived ‘audacity’ as one of my first posts comes from the fact that I have no recollection of my previous username or password due to personal circumstances . No matter how hard I try to remember I can’t give my previous username etc as I don’t have it written down. I therefore can’t get a reminder sent. I don’t log in often as circumstances don’t allow these days so didn’t reply sooner.
However I will say that I stand by my point and that there seems to be folk who post for attention and that ruins the whole point of the topic. So without being ‘audacious’ I shall wait until we get close to Xmas and then maybe we can start a thread ‘January Transfer Window FACTUAL discussion’ to bring the page count down and give concise info for those getting on a bit. Again apologies I in no way meant to be rude , just frustrated in reading post after post without meaningful facts and arguments between fellow clarets and one up manship to score points in a faceless environment.
We are all here to support the football club . Up the clarets.

We would get more for Brownhill than the other four all put togetherwarksclaret wrote: ↑Mon Aug 14, 2023 5:56 pmWould rather see all of Jay, JBG, Cork and Bastian go before Josh
but you are right
Brownhill would be third choice CM after Cullen and Berge
He would be second choice as No 10 after Amdounie
If Ramsey and someone akin to Tella come in we would be better getting £10m for him

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Having followed this thread since it was started at the dawn of time, I honestly think there’s some bullying going on with Newcastle.
The guy has some controversial views, sure, but they’re never offensive or trolling ones like the ‘Foster is Pony’ guy. He usually explains his reasoning, too.
But whenever Newcastle posts, it feels like a lot of people pile on. Way more so than when other posters make controversial statements.
Maybe I’m making a mountain of out a Brownhill, so feel free to tell me I’m wrong.

You’re not wrong. It happens to other posters on other topics, and even to me once by a poster who said he knew who I was and then went on to personally insult me because he didn’t like my views on a particular topic (I’m still waiting to bump into this poster btw). It brings the board down.davideyresleftear wrote: ↑Tue Aug 15, 2023 7:24 amHaving followed this thread since it was started at the dawn of time, I honestly think there’s some bullying going on with Newcastle.

Interesting that Wolves had Craig Dawson in their defence last night. Surely we could do with a bit of experience, even just on the bench.

I'm not sure Craig Dawson would come here to add experience to our bench when he's starting at OT. If we wanted experience on the bench Friday we would have put CT on it.
