If we don’t have any more incomings how would you class this window?

Brentford are owned by the richest man in Denmark, pretty sure that their main board members are wadded as well.

it can only be answered at the end of the seasonNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2023 6:35 pmIf we don’t have any more incomings how would you class this window?

PSG arguably had the best window in the history of football when they signed Messi, Ramos, Wjinaldum,Donnarumma and Hakimi and look where that got them
I for one trust the owners and VK 100%, they aren't messing about and I guarantee we will beat Man City sometime in the next 500 years

So it now looks like we are down to at least our 5th or 6th choice on the list to replace Tella!...
Paying an extra 5m for Tella would have been less costly than relegation by a country mile...
We are trying to be too clever... VK saying we will have the next £100m player proves that...
I have been a fan of most things he has said until then but to have the chance of a 100m player, you need to be in the Premier League so that is a big assumption by VK An absolutely ridiculous thing to say at this stage...
There has been a touch of arrogance about our transfer policy in this window so far!

I was literally the only one here at the start of last season that said Brownhill was a good player who was important to us and you've all been made to eat your own words and look like fools after his showing last season and are now begging the manager to play him lol...
I was the only one here that said there was zero chance of us signing Trésor from the very start of the rumours...
I was the only one here who also said that there was absolutely no chance we would sign Gyokeres from the very first mention...
I was the only one here who said that we had wasted our money and it would be reflected in results and was told it would not age well... I am still waiting!
I could go on all day, I'm an all-seeing oracle!

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
HBVL - There was a lot of busy talk for a whole day, Burnley manager Vincent Kompany still seems to be able to warm up the Genk flanker for the move to the Premier League. Trésor had still put the transfer on the slope on Wednesday evening, but would now still head towards England for his physical and medical tests. The three parties still have until Friday night to bring the deal to a successful conclusion.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Okay, that’s fair. I would class it as mostly successful but missing a left back.
There are areas I’d like us to strengthen further but not to the extent that I’d suggest the window was unsuccessful.

Finally Mike Tresor ! Agreement now on the verge of being sealed between #BurnleyFC & #KRCGenk.
Loan with an obligation to buy!
Clarets already scheduled for tomorrow the medical tests.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
So as it stands we could be signing:-
Massango for cm
Tresor - winger
A Portuguese cb
Daka or Origi for up top
Still quite on a left back, crucially.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Whatever will be, will be.
Last year we were chasing a young centre half but couldn't agree a deal, we turned to another player on our list and got him in just before the deadline.
The first player was Ameen Al-Dakhil and the player we turned to was Jordan Beyer.
The recruitment last season was top notch and the work behind the scenes will be just as thorough this time around, we will definitely have alternatives to any knock backs.

Summerville been an option all summer. Suspect we were in after the setback we had with Tresor last night.
Tresor, Daka and Origi deals all now on. Massengo deal already done.

Any news on potential outgoings?
We are surely going to need to trim the squad a little - keep the wage bill down, bring some money in, ensure players are getting game time etc.
