Re: Lancashire League Cricket
Last game of the season today and Lowerhouse play Burnley, hasn’t turned out to be the finale most expected and Lowerhouse go in to it out of form.
Darwen 1sts and 2nds win and they win both of their respective leagues, however if they slip up and Burnley win either their games against Lowerhouse, they win their league.
Norden are a good side on their day.
Clitheroe could also sneak it.
I hope the weather stays nice and it goes to the wire, Lowerhouse seem to have had Burnley’s number in league cricket over the past few years but I’m not as confident today, hoping to see Shapcott crying into his pint later, I know you read the board Ken so I’ll happily buy it for you

Just hope the weather doesn't ruin it this afternoon and all games get a proper result.

Re: Lancashire League Cricket
Exciting finish for the league.
Good luck Burnley. Bring that title back to the area.
I will be going to Farnworth to watch Padiham in the cup final for the 2nd attempt.
Praying the heat wave can last another 12 hours or so.

Ahhh today is the day Lowerhouse face the humiliation of possibly allowing their sworn enemies to lift the title on their own patch.

Re: Lancashire League Cricket
I doubt you will see Shapcott today. It's a few days since I had any news but he was in hospital then and wasn't at all well. Whether the local derby has perked him up enough to be there today remains to be seen.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 7:53 amI hope the weather stays nice and it goes to the wire, Lowerhouse seem to have had Burnley’s number in league cricket over the past few years but I’m not as confident today, hoping to see Shapcott crying into his pint later, I know you read the board Ken so I’ll happily buy it for you
Whatever happens today, hopefully the rain will stay away and it will be decided on the pitch. Of course I want Burnley to win the league but I don't think they could be going anywhere tougher than the West End for the final game of the season.

Have the House cut the ticket allocation to Burnley supporters ?

Re: Lancashire League Cricket
No one is mentioning Littleborough!! There is a scenario whereby we can win it. But it will mean Burnley and Darwen both losing with no points and us beating Clitheroe. Just hope the weather isn't the winner!

Re: Lancashire League Cricket
Or Clitheroe themselves who are currently third with three points more than Littleborough.
These four are the only teams that can win the league.

Darwen haven’t bowled out Norden and Burnley won’t bowl out Lowerhouse so Darwen will just need to win. They are chasing 198.

Amazing that Norden and House get same scores.
Re: Lancashire League Cricket
Odd one at Nelson. Nelson made 154/9, innings closed, with Tariq listed at 11 but didn't bat. Anyone know why?

Ah, I thought you were well into your cricket and a big Burnley fan so assumed you’d have headed over to watch that one with it possibly being a title winning game.

Darwen are 27/4 from 12 overs needing a further 160 from 32 overs. Burnley are 30/0 from 5 overs.
A long way to go yet.

Burnley 40 odd for 1 off 8. Decent star. Darwen struggling. Starting to look interesting

Seems to have virtually stopped raining here but the way things are going at Norden, it looks as though a no result could win Burnley the title. I hope not though.

Think it would sum the season up and be an appropriate ending. Been a poor season weather wise and many games that did get a result have been rain affected.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sun Sep 10, 2023 6:11 pmSeems to have virtually stopped raining here but the way things are going at Norden, it looks as though a no result could win Burnley the title. Re: Lancashire League Cricket
I'm following this from Canada so LL website may not be up to date. But, at the moment, Littleborough need 23 off 15 overs with 7 wickets left to beat Clitheroe. If Burnley don't bat 20 overs the Boro sneak in. It's the miracle of Medina all over again

Revised score for Burnley, now require 151 from 32 and are currently 71/1 from 12. That’s 80 from 20 overs.
Not back on though.
