I don't think theres any bias here, i just think the referees are awful at interpreting the actions of players who are literally responding to split second stimulae. But they're looking at it in slow motion. The ball wasn't nearly far enough away from Berge that hed attempt or risk a deliberate handball. But his body movement, trying to trap the ball in his shoulder, looks as if he's "moving his arm toward the ball". It's a complete lack of awareness and judgement of natural physical movement

Their player running up to the ref drawing a tv for him
Look at is a disgrace :: in the 94th minute a bit of a tussle and he gets Foster sent off for virtually nothing .:he should be ashamed

Good battling draw and some lovely football played at times. The Gods were against us twice tonight unfortunately but we can take a lot away from the game

Better team over 90 minutes
Much more balance
Real game changers on the bench
Lots to be happy with

But...

The worst referee I can remember, still being the worst referee I can remember
VAR confusing as ever
Could have conceded more against better opposition
Lots to be apprehensive about

Pretty certain you can’t contest them after the ref looks at the monitor?

I know what you are saying, but the ref was reacting to the crowd early doors and proved that with his Yellow for Trafford.

A good point away.
I think the VAR decision to disallow what imo was a perfectly good goal, was made far far too quickly.
It was obvious top half of chest and shoulder...which is not handball.
VAR is destroying our beautiful game. It has completely taken away the human element.

I hate this "And the referee has been asked to look at the monitor and you know what this means" schtick. Why has this act turned into a foregone conclusion? Such a charade.

I can understand why our goal might not have been given. Was it a clear and obvious error? I'm not so sure Arsenal have that overturned.

I hope this isn't another one of those Norwich City away moments. I still can't believe how we weren't awarded that penalty when Krul took Vyrda's head off. Those 2 points might have kept us up.

I'd love to see some referees with some clout and bottle - who go up to the monitor and disagree with the plebs in the control room who clearly have no idea what they're talking about. That's what we're lacking. Missing the likes of Mike Dean who stick to their guns. "Clear and obvious" is the phrase that keeps getting thrown around - it's a myth.

There’s no way it’s clear and obvious. It’s so close to his sleeve there is no conclusive angle to show it was below t shirt line. Even then it’s not deliberate.

I don't know how he does it and at this point I'd honestly find it cathartic to see someone give a Ternent-tier rant at it all. Stick Bellers on press duty next time and just let him take the touchline ban.

He was excellent but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he was only selected because they went with two out and out wingers, CHO & Elanga. Against a side not playing two wingers we’ll go a different way, although I hope not.

Beauty of football.

I thought his touch was excellent. I thought he moved the ball quickly and kept the game flowing. I thought he looked good.

I'd love to see an opposition manager come out and publically criticise VAR when decisions go their way - why can't Cooper come out and say "We got away with one today, VAR was shocking and needs looking at". Me thinks they're too happy the results go their way and don't care for the future of the game.

Amazing what having full backs in their right positions, brownhills legs next to Cullen does for a team.

Also it’s clear that berge can become a real player in a midfield 3

On Saturday the same back 5 with them Cullen brownhill berge tresor Amdouni koleosho

In this less experimental line up Taylor is more than adequate, if you want an attacking wing back/ left winger than Maatsen is better but I think having Luca on the left wing negates that now, what a game he had! Ian who?

I hope we will see Berge advanced with Brownhill and Cullen behind him with Amdouni on the wing (that way he can be more involved) very soon, maybe even in the next game.

I actually thought that he didn't have a poor touch. Very impressed so far.
