Re: Wade Elliott
Is that Kevin “Rooster” Russell who has been asked to take over?

Re: Wade Elliott
Really feel for Wade. He’s a great guy and will always be a claret legend. Things had been going really well for him up to this season. Hope he bounces back and finds success elsewhere.

Re: Wade Elliott
Rooster looks like the love child of Alan Shearer and Tony Pulis
Re: Wade Elliott
I am sure he will pick up coaching jobs. Good luck to the lad.
Re: Wade Elliott
Yes maybe better suited to coaching than being a manager like many others.
Didn't he come to us from Bournemouth along with John Spicer who was the higher rated of the two?

Re: Wade Elliott
Memory...
I think he came alone but then we signed Spicer and O'Connor as a couple.
Need verification from someone with the detail on record, rather than my memory!

Re: Wade Elliott
He came from Bournemouth where he had played alongside Eddie Howe.

Re: Wade Elliott
Elliot had an absolutely storming game in the FA Cup for Bournemouth where he repeatedly rinsed Mo Camara.
Was delighted when we signed him. I couldn’t remember O’Connor from the Cup game, but they deffo signed on the same day on Bosmans.
Spicer signed the following season for £25k.

Re: Wade Elliott
And the fourth member of the Bournemouth midfield in that game was Brian Stock, who signed 7 years after Elliott and O'Connor.

Re: Wade Elliott
When looking up John Spicer on Wikipedia , I was surprised to see he played more games for us than any other team.

Didn’t we announce Elliot and O’Connor would be signing before the season ended?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Sep 22, 2023 1:18 pmSpicer signed in the same summer - just later than the other two

Re: Wade Elliott
No, just announced them both on 16th May 2005 with them due to join us in July at the end of their Bournemouth contracts. Spicer was signed on 26th August but there was a fee for him.
Re: Wade Elliott
Great. Thanks. So Spicer was the one who came separately. Must have signed him for that Luton experience!

Re: Wade Elliott
Will be remembered for what seemed like a screamer at Wembley to beat Sheff Utd in the play off final
