Re: Today's Football
Looks like VAR didn’t mind that handball by the man making the assist.

Amazing that stands , but not surprising

Re: Today's Football
Well, there’s a handball by Gordon in the build up and the goal is allowed.
Yes I’m still fuming about the Berge one at Forest.

They’re a big / rich club now, no way that’s getting ruled out.

…and it’s the same VAR as our game on Monday Darren England
Re: Today's Football
He's perhaps been spoken to after Monday.... too late for us though unfortunately.

Re: Today's Football
It's an absolute joke. Not a funny one mind. I'm ok that the Gordon handball was allowed but you just can't disallow ours based on the same rules. They took 2 seconds to deem Gordon's as non-deliberate yet spent 5 minutes making sure Berge's was. It really is an absolute mess.

Newcastle could be in the goals today. Sheff Uniteds midfield really struggling leaving their defence exposed.

Toon 3 up and it could end up with us moving off the bottom at this rate.
Loads of chances coming Newcastle's way.

At set pieces, Newcastle are gonna tear us a new 1 next week.

Carragher - probably one of trippiers poorer set pieces

Newcastle play City on Wednesday in the cup I wonder if Howe will rotate a lot or not.
I think we will play virtually a new 11 at Salford.

Anthony Gordon has really questionable balance for a top flight footballer.

When we play we drop down the table. When we don’t play we go up the table. Weird

Re: Today's Football
That’s the old cliche about fans just wanting consistency. That ‘trip’ is a penalty more often than not. Complete lottery.

Re: Today's Football
This is the officials not going all in on Sheffield Utd because they are getting hammered because the Jack Robinson challenge should also have been a red due to excessive force

Robinson is a nasty piece of work. Did the same to Benson last season and JBG a few seasons back.Leyland Claret wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 5:11 pmThis is the officials not going all in on Sheffield Utd because they are getting hammered because the Jack Robinson challenge should also have been a red due to excessive force

Re: Today's Football
This game is another that demonstrates the gap between the Prem and the Championship. Newcastle with Joelinton, Tonali, Isak not starting but they are still way too good for Sheff Utd who, along with us, were too good for the Championship.

I only saw a couple of minutes of the game but I’m sure he lost the ball in his own box where Jesus should have scored.

Re: Today's Football
I have visions of Darren England conducting his VAR duties from a static caravan in Bognor on an old black & white TV. His wife is holding the aerial out the window to try and improve the reception.
It’s the only way to explain his decisions/recommendations this week.

Re: Today's Football
It appears the officials now take in to account the score, If you're winning by so many at an early stage the rules no longer apply too. It's very interesting to see how the laws change for each game/team.
Anyone else absolutely hating the Premier League?

Re: Today's Football
What possible explanation could the PGMOL come up with to explain VAR overlooking it? It was clear as day.
Re: Today's Football
The 3 promoted teams from the championship have played 16 games between them and have yet to register a win.

I think they have to lose by six.
If they only lose by five they'd still be above us on goals scored.

Re: Today's Football
You know that bar we keep hearing about to overturn refs decisions, I think they just set it quite high this morning - somewhere up near the t-shirt line.agreenwood wrote: ↑Sun Sep 24, 2023 5:17 pmWhat possible explanation could the PGMOL come up with to explain VAR overlooking it?
