Get behind the lads.

Post by Claretmutt » Sat Nov 25, 2023 11:48 am

Instead of having a go at certain players, ie
Trafford Rodriguez and others why not get
behind the lads instead. Are we not all
supposed to be Clarets?

Usual pap. Crowd will be behind the team today as it has been all season. Putting your thoughts on the messageboard about certain players (ie Trafford Rodriguez) being crap thus far doesn't change that.

I think during the actual game the majority of people do get behind the lads. I think it’s afterwards that people are inclined to have a go. As the saying goes “ you pay ya money”.

100%
I think, and hope, that the main contributers to the abuse and depression on this board don't actually go to the games

They'll be far more abuse etc aimed at players and management on the game thread on here than there will be at turf moor

Whatever gets said on here is on an even greater scale during matches, people get behind the team for 90 minutes but there's definitely shouted thoughts about certain players. They need to perform better to change that but let's hop that starts with today

Do we swap legs at half time?

One of the biggest abusers on here saying that other posters abuse the players. Love the gaslighting, well done.

Casually calling people lunatics he doesn’t agree with. Talk about pot calling kettle black.

Not everyone wants to be a VK lemming, people are allowed opinions believe it or not doesn’t mean they don’t support the team just means they want them to perform better!

I'm going on, I'll do the same as I do every game- regardless of if I disagree with selection or setup back all the players 100% all game. Never booed or jeered or heckled, always join in efforts to get cheers going. After the match, at halftime, or in person with the people I go on with I'll share thoughts and discuss performances, good and bad, as I see them.
I think a lot of people mistake sharing honest thoughts for not backing the team, but it's just a silencing tactic. When people are in the pub talking footie you don't get someone yelling at them to stop with any criticism or it means they're an abuser.
But fully agree that everyone on the Turf needs to back them 100% whatever, even if we take a 4-0 hiding no boos. Helps nothing, hurts lots.

It's a two way thing.

Give us something to cheer, and it'll happen.

I also think the crowd have been particularly patient.
