Jimmy McIlroy Lounge (North Stand) hospitality - What's included?

Seating in the North Stand (short walk from the lounge)

Our hospitality lounges will mainly be made up of home fans. If you are a supporter of the away side, then we ask that you are respectful of this and act discreetly in the support of your team. Colours (wearing of football shirts) are not permitted in our lounges and anyone wearing colours or negatively affecting the experience of other guests may be asked to leave the stadium.

For bookings made within 7 days of the event or have a non-UK address, you will collect your tickets from our Hospitality entrance on the day of the fixture

The Club response attached by wilks_bfc.

They still haven't employed that proofreader.
I've read one on X that names Everton..... But does it matter, it's clear which game they are talking about

Yes it matters. Without naming the club it makes no sense.

Incredibly naive from the club to have that arrangement. It just shows their lack of knowledge of how idiotic some fans can be with a drink (or worse) in them. It doesn't make it right, but that's the reality.

naive maybe, but only what happens at other clubs.

wasnt it only last seasons that Burnley fans were buying hospitality tickets at ewood?

The difference being that the hospitality area used at Ewood is for away fans only

That’s the same as other clubs so fair enough.

The club knows who they are, they have their credit card details, they know where they were sitting, they will have their addresses, there’s CCTV cameras on them, so if the club had any desire to sort this then it would be very straightforward.

There were Burnley fans in the hospitality in the Jack Walker stand where they were seated in the main stand, similar to JHU which caused trouble. Know a couple of posters on here were in that section.

There was the away fans only option in the Darwen End too.

Well done to your daughter and others who’ve complained. Needs a firm stance by fans that this type of thing is not acceptable and won’t be tolerated.

Russell Ball must surely be close to being potted now?

- Totally misreads the room on the standing situation in the longside lower when the club have dallied on safe standing and it’s clearly tolerated in other parts of the ground

- Screws up the catering even more than it was before

- Big drummer OG

- Then starts to sell flags that never seemed to make it on to the ground and didn’t come with poles as far as I could tell

- Risks fans safety by flogging tickets to away fans in the home end, annoying loyal fans in the process. Anyone in that block needs a big club credit as compensation for those ugly scenes.

- No sign of progress on any of the above topics.

There were….I was one of them having received a corporate invite. We effectively had a whole table of Clarets but we kept a low profile ..especially once we were out in the stand. There was some trouble when one Burnley fan (not in our group) went up when Benson scored but stewards were there after about a minute or so and he was then removed.

At least it's not being overlooked, which is a start, I suppose. We'll find out if lessons have been learned soon enough.

By the way, in what way was Peter Reid 'being a knob' celebrating their goals, bantering, or aggressive goading?

Have no real issue with well behaved fans sat in corporate areas (not home stands as seems to be the case here). Fans that celebrate and obviously support the opposing team should be immediately removed, as it sounds was the case here so fair play to Rovers for policing that swiftly.

The Liverpool tickets that are back on sale now need 50 loyalty points to purchase.

So the club have changed things for normal tickets.

Let's see about the corporate?

Think not was me that called him that. I read he called a Burnley fan a ****ing something. Some said it was just drunken banter but you’d think a high profile individual might show more respect in a home corporate hospitality.

He was drunk apparently too.

Goodness me, so you didn’t need loyalty points to buy before? What a joke. Hope they look carefully at recently purchased tickets and either cancel any suspicious ones.

Well if he was staggering around, he should have been thrown out, but as for the rest, sounds like you'd have to be a bit of a mardarse to take offence.

Peter Reid drunk? Well he started his career at Everton by turning up ****** for training by his own admission so it should come as no surprise.

The club have to shoulder the blame if they are knowingly selling home stand tickets and reselling the seats of season ticket holders who can't attend, to away supporters.
It's inviting security problems.

He turned up for a manager interview at Burnley under the influence, I believe.

When the camera panned on him for their Chelsea game last week, his head was bowed with his hat covering his face, like he was well away.

Let's hope he gets some help.

Liars might be a bit strong, but stories on the Internet are not exactly to be taken as gospel

People will have different accounts of what actually went on and what constitutes as ugly.

One person's a lad got asked to leave,
Is another person's ugly scenes.

Well... It was clearly serious enough for the Club to issue a statement about it, so obviously not something and nothing.

Presumably you missed the game on account of your football banning order?

The first half was that miserable I can assure you that most of the JML were watching the trouble unfold instead of watching the actual match. More than a few punches thrown. It's certainly not something I'd want to be in the middle of.

For a start sensible people wouldn't expose their children to such a scene & making the allowances that the scenario was unexpected & not anticipated in any shape or form you'd get your kids as far away as possible pronto.

Absolutely you would.

Which is exactly why it is completely wrong of the club to expose season ticket holders and loyal clarets to that kind of behaviour.

There’s simply no excuse for this and I’d like to know how Russell Ball or Alan Pace would feel if they’d bought season tickets (or even just a ticket - keeping in mind there’ll presumably have been some clarets that paid £120 for corporate to witness it) and taken their kids only to have to witness that.

Will add while I’m ranting that the club clearly knew Everton fans were discussing the purchase of tickets in the home end. They issued a statement about it being a ‘sell out’ - it clearly wasn’t as tickets had been released. So they knew they were buying them and did what about it?

There was a gobby scouser in block 4 of the BLS, stood up and arguing with an elderly woman, fair play to the stewards who removed him.

Better communications from the club on this is whats been missing. They should have made it very clear in the summer that they would be sitting hospitality customers in that block and that this might include opposition fans.

If they would have done that then it would given all the Burnley fans who sit in that area, who cannot trust themselves to be in the close vicinity of opposition fans without losing control and causing trouble, to relocate to another part of the ground.

As it is we at least now know those seats are reserved from hospitality customers and that if you are sitting in that part of the ground you need to accept there will be a mixture of fans and be sensible and act like adults and enjoy the match together.

I know its not always easy as I found out myself when I let a Newcastle supporting friend of mine come round and watch the game with me in my house but I managed to keep my anger under control and despite some verbal abuse no punches were thrown.

Was that the 2-2 thriller where Firpo got sent off?

Well done on controlling yourself.

There were Burnley fans in the hospitality in the Jack Walker stand where they were seated in the main stand, similar to JHU which caused trouble. Know a couple of posters on here were in that section.

There was the away fans only option in the Darwen End too.
I assume without the knowledge of that lot down the road. Here we invite people to get tickets in there as away fans.

If you are an away fan in the home section of any ground you are asking for trouble if you draw any attention to yourself whatsoever.
For those Everton fans that did, I'm surprised the police weren't straight in there, it is not the job of stewards to intervene in nonsense.
I've done it a few times in recent seasons becoming a member of Bristol City, Reading, Charlton and Rotherham to see sold out, for us, games.
I made one mistake at Charlton when we got the first, a slight get in gesture, to myself, but the steward had a quiet word and that was it.
So, yes, use subterfuge by all means but for goodness sake use your commonsense and keep it shut. You're there to watch your side not join in the home/ away shenanigans. No excuses.
I've got away with it because of my Midlands address, I'm intrigued how these Everton invaders did it.

Already mentioned on this thread, the police are not responsible for inside the ground unless previously agreed and paid for, so they couldn't go straight in, they would have to be called for and attend...takes time.

Tbf I was in the Bob Lord and it was pretty obvious what was going on. Surely someone should have twigged and tried to get a few coppers up there, it's not like it was over quickly either. I'm assuming we have a ground safety officer?
