Mellon recalled

Post by Kilson810 » Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:15 pm

Michael Mellon has been recalled from his loan at Morecambe. I assume he must be going out on loan again to a club in League 1 perhaps?

Benn Ward, Sam Waller and Marcel Lewis have all returned to Burnley as well.

Odebert and Koleosho are younger than Michael
Surely we could try him the first team pool?

I’m sure he’ll get his chance in the fullness of time but a spell in league one will be good for him and interesting to see.

Certainly not a first team squad place for him this season.

The coaches will be monitoring him, and will be the best judges of when he is ready. But Mellon will know that VK is not averse to giving young players a chance when the time is right

Certainly wouldn't be opposed to giving him a chance. Hopefully he will have a few days training with the first team so the coaching staff can see how he has developed these last few months.

I believe he'll be going back out on loan

It was mentioned yesterday either league one, or scotland

Might it be a League one club with Scottish connections ?

If age was the only criteria for selecting players for the first team, yeah he’s in. 🤔🥴🥴🥴

I'm sure Wrexhollywam FC would love to get him. 20, already scoring regularly in their division and full of potential.

This is one of the overlooked benefits of the strategy we’ve deployed this season - both our own and other talent will know we’re not scared to invest in and play young talent, which should hopefully help us sign more of it in the future.

As we saw with Twine last year though, it’s a big step up between league one and the champ, so I think league 2 to the prem would be too big an ask.

I’d like to see him go to a decent league one side where he’ll get chances. If he can prove himself at that level could save us a fortune looking a back up striker.

That would be a terrible move for him, not sure he'd get a game ahead of Mullin and Fletcher

Big step between League One and Prem too as we’ve seen for Trafford.

I agree.
Absolutely no chance, the jump is ridiculously big

How many times has Trafford been voted Man Of The Match this season outperforming all of his colleagues?

Dunno, probably not many. Maybe the Brighton game?

He’s been fine, grown into the season and got better every week recently.

On here, the total of man of the match vote winners is:

6: Sander Berge
5: Lyle Foster
4: James Trafford
2: Josh Brownhill & Luca Koleosho
1: Ameen Al-Dakhil, Jordan Beyer, Charlie Taylor & Anass Zaroury

Id guess that our keepers have always been near the top of this list when weve been relegated from the Premier league

We'll be wanting him in League One, not down to the National League.

He was linked with a loan move to Derby last week, but seems he might be on Blackpools radar
