Mellon recalled
Michael Mellon has been recalled from his loan at Morecambe. I assume he must be going out on loan again to a club in League 1 perhaps?
Benn Ward, Sam Waller and Marcel Lewis have all returned to Burnley as well.

Re: Mellon recalled
Odebert and Koleosho are younger than Michael
Surely we could try him the first team pool?

Re: Mellon recalled
I’m sure he’ll get his chance in the fullness of time but a spell in league one will be good for him and interesting to see.
Certainly not a first team squad place for him this season.

Re: Mellon recalled
The coaches will be monitoring him, and will be the best judges of when he is ready. But Mellon will know that VK is not averse to giving young players a chance when the time is rightWoodleyclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:58 pmOdebert and Koleosho are younger than Michael

Re: Mellon recalled
Certainly wouldn't be opposed to giving him a chance. Hopefully he will have a few days training with the first team so the coaching staff can see how he has developed these last few months.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:58 pmOdebert and Koleosho are younger than Michael

If age was the only criteria for selecting players for the first team, yeah he’s in.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:58 pmOdebert and Koleosho are younger than Michael

I'm sure Wrexhollywam FC would love to get him. 20, already scoring regularly in their division and full of potential.

Re: Mellon recalled
This is one of the overlooked benefits of the strategy we’ve deployed this season - both our own and other talent will know we’re not scared to invest in and play young talent, which should hopefully help us sign more of it in the future.warksclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 5:07 pmThe coaches will be monitoring him, and will be the best judges of when he is ready. Re: Mellon recalled
As we saw with Twine last year though, it’s a big step up between league one and the champ, so I think league 2 to the prem would be too big an ask.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:58 pmOdebert and Koleosho are younger than Michael

I’d like to see him go to a decent league one side where he’ll get chances. If he can prove himself at that level could save us a fortune looking a back up striker.

He was linked with a loan move to Derby last week, but seems he might be on Blackpools radar
