Saint back in for benson according to sacha
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Didn't realise Gyokeres was having such a good season. Apart from the money not sure I'd want to join Chelsea at the moment, they're a bit of a mess. Probably suits both him and Sporting to wait till summer and see what happens.

Hopefully we’ll string them along for rest of the month and then decide to keep him here.

Loan with an option to buy, unless the option to buy is a small fortune I'd tell them to whistle. Zero problem with them wanting the most for Tella but we should do exactly the same

I suppose that's the current market. Brentford want £100 million for Toney, but it shows what some clubs might have to pay for players who aren't even close to being world class.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 4:26 pmI mean he's good but that's just pathetic,100 million, behave

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Sensible move to slap a £100m price tag on Toney since the Brentford manager is adamant that the club don’t want the player to leave in this January window and the player says he has “unfinished business”.
Arsenal could not afford to cough up the £100m asking price this January for risk of falling foul of FFP regulations.

My gut feel is he’d be a flop in the premier league.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 4:26 pmI mean he's good but that's just pathetic,100 million, behave
Will never forget being right behind the goal at Cov last season, 1-0 up, when he ran through in the last minute and screwed it up. Other than that we contained him the whole game. At the Turf he ran the channels and holds the ball up well but I don’t see anything that makes me think he’ll excel in the premier league.
I’d be amazed if he goes for those sort of sums. But then Chelsea are a laughing stock so you never know…
Re: January transfer window rumours.
Absolutely right! Similar profile, both had prolific seasons last season………show me the money!! I still can’t get my head around why Benson hasn’t played at all this season?!?! I mean, it’s not as though JBG or JBL etc have excelled on that wing is it!randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 5:12 pmWe must surely be expecting at least whatever they wanted us to pay for Tella ?

Re: January transfer window rumours.
With Gykores it isn’t just the number of goals scored but his ability to bring others into play and setting up goal scoring opportunities. With Sporting this season 11 goals 8 assists, his last season with Coventry 21 goals 12 assists.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Benny was obviously a hero last season but my gut feeling is that there are plenty of left footed right wingers out there similar in style but better than Manuel Benson.
Kompany clearly thinks he isn’t up to it or maybe Benson doesn’t have the heart or steel for it. It doesn’t take much for him to limp off and he has NO right foot.
If he goes, he goes. It’s not the end of the world.
Hopefully, though, we don’t make it easy for Southampton and we absolutely maximise what we can get out of the deal from them if it happens.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
The Toney one is interesting, 18 months left on his deal so realistically this is their last chance to get top dollar for him, he won’t fetch the same price in the summer. With that in mind they will be trying to push the price as high as possible, I think £100m is a stretch however no one is going to pay that.
This is his time to go certainly, he will be 29 when that contract expires in 18 months and as such won’t be getting the 5 year bumper deal somewhere that he would get if he left now.
Suits all partys for it to happen this month except for the fact Brentford are flirting with relegation and need his goals desperately now.

Don’t particularly think that Sacha is as reliable as people make out but if he’s report is benson wants to move then he either knows he’s not getting a game or isn’t willing to fight to get a game, loan with option of 20m if they get promoted

Seems a little over the top and unfair. Just use the ‘foe’ button.KRBFC wrote: ↑Tue Jan 16, 2024 9:19 amWell that’s just absolute negative horse shite ain’t it? Typical of you. Al Dakhil, Benson, Vitinho, Zaroury, Cullen to name a few who’s market value has increased.
Why don’t you just go and support Newcastle if everything about BFC is so bad? Since the moment you signed up to this place you haven’t supported anything. You have hated and slagged off every manager, almost every player.
I don’t get why people get so bent out of shape about another person having a different opinion to themselves.
You know nothing about the other person, nothing about their mental space and how this board might be a lifeline to a ‘community’ that they need.
Be nice?

Rather than spend so long posting thesis after thesis the second anything happens why don’t you just try and relax for a few days and take this for what it is. Twine has simply gone to another club on loan.
It ain’t Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky (though it does feel like it trying to read this board some days)

I personally believe Toney is worth that money to a top six team.
He’s a proven league goal scorer. He’s English so doesn’t need the time to fit in to a club or the league.
He’s a perfect fit for a London club, but I think United should be breaking the bank for him.

Dont know what to make of this. Why might he want to go-a full out with VK; maybe VK not impressed with how easily he gets injured;maybe the Board need to pull some funds in ???
He was literally unplayable when fit last season, and dopes not seem to have been given many opportunities this season

Reports saying Crystal Palace interested in Kalvin Phillips on a loan, just the type of player I think we're missing in the middle but I know he's well out of our price range wages wise.

Had I done the video then I would have felt embarrassed, but somebody nothing to do with me doing something on the internet is never going to make me personally feel embarrassed. You could argue there are far more embarrassing things posted on here if you feel that way.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Gyokeres shows that while that was unrealistic 6 months ago we were targeting the right players - get them over the line and we fly. We can also add summer targets Dier (loan) now gone to Bayern, Tella now at top of the league Leverkusen, Maatsen at Dortmund, there are many more gone to really good clubs. So for me that’s the right approach, just need to get a couple of A listers over the line, we have done well getting B listers in who we need about 10 of in the squad.
On the Phillips one, it depends if Newcastle are genuinely out and if City still want him if he improves. If that is the case, with the similarity to how us and City play (yes, really), and him being able to stay in his house, there is a chance of a deal being done. Berge and Phillips would be a great partnership. All depends on if the player relishes the survival battle. It’s a loan so no problem fearing the drop afterwards. Surely we can rival Palace?

Seen a Nixon article NOT linking us with Ahmedhodzic at Sheff Utd, who they'll let go if they get a decent offer, sounds like a Berge situation.
Great player, only 24, we should bite their hand off if it can be done.

Re: January transfer window rumours.
Very good point in your first para and I definitely agree we should be going all out to get Phillips on loan. I am sure it would be a good move for him as he is fairly assured that he plays every minute of every game at Burnley and then he can move on in the summer if he wants. Geographically we should have the advantage over Palace, just whether we have the same level of attractiveness if they offer him the same playing time.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2024 9:34 amGyokeres shows that while that was unrealistic 6 months ago we were targeting the right players - get them over the line and we fly.
