Muric 9 - Didn't want to give him such a high rating with how toxic the debate's become, makes me look like a Trafford hater. But that was such a complete performance. Distribution got us on the front door so often, claimed or punched to safety everything, made a number of top saves and was incredibly physically robust. Feel sorry for Trafford and really hope he's left alone to develop naturally as a young keeper rather than a 21 yr old PL mainstay.
Assignon 6 - very good going forwards with Vitinho but defensively shaky, commits a lot of fouls too and tad naive at times.
O’Shea 6 - loses 1 for the horror pass. He was alright, up against a very good striker.
Esteve 7 - didn't do a huge amount wrong, didn't stand out a ton but capable all round performance.
Taylor 6 - some decent moments going forwards but rarely came to anything, was targeted a bit on their attacks, not amazing but decent.
Vitinho 7 - he was very good without a ton of direct end product for 80 mins then flagged noticeably. So close to being a really good player.
Cullen 7- he ran things pretty well today but does sometimes make the wrong call in the attacking third, but not his game
Berge 7 - solid, don't know that he looks as good alongside Cullen surprisingly but he's a solid all rounder
Larsen 7 - he faded and he is frustrating sometimes in his pace of play and choices, but he was the source of most of our creativity in the first half.
Oderbert 6- Absolutely anonymous first half and I'd have subbed him, much better in the second half with a very well weighted pass for the winner. Still raw but has raw skill.
Fofana 6 - ditto Odobert, weird to mark a goalscorer so low but he almost gave away a pen and squandered one great chance, created one then blew it. So erratic.

Amdouni 5- got some shots off but he's very very loose in possession and not a guy to help preserve a 1 goal lead.

Weird game. Could easily have been 4-3 us, possibly should have been, we didn't look like we had a man advantage for 97/102 minutes.

Totally agree and turning the player ratings into a farce
Farce is a bit strong Tony. If not for Muric we would have been 2-1 down at half time

Muric - 10 - Outstanding. Top notch distribution, put himself in front of everything, fast to release the ball
Assignon - 7 - Played really well but fell over the ball a few times
Cullen - 8 - Like clockwork
Vitinho - 8 - Deserves an 8 for that lung busting run to recover the ball he lost, leading to the goal
Berge - 6 - messed around too much instead of shooting or making a pass
Esteve - 7 - Didn't really notice him too muchm which is probably a good thing
O'shea - 7 - Did well mostly, apart for the shocking blind backpass
Larsson - 8 - Top notch penalty, and battled hard all game
Taylor - 6 - Got down the channel so many times yet refused to cross the ball
Oderbert - 7 - Played well
Fofana - 8 - Reminds me of last years number 23, which is a high compliment
Amdouni - 3 - Had a couple of shots, but he laziness led to their goal. Just can't be arsed tracking back and battling for the ball

Muric 9 and man of the match. Not because of any particular save but you could physically see how much calmer the defence was knowing that they had him in the net. What a difference.

Other than that, Fofana looks assured. 8. Shame he won’t be playing next game and that he (most likely) won’t be here next season.

Oh, and Cullen has more than proved himself. Must admit I doubted him, but looks good now he’s back in the side and rightly so.

Muric 9 - have to say, he was terrific today and showed exactly what we've been missing all season
Assignon 7 - energy to burn,
O’Shea 9 - one shoddy back pass shouldn't take away from his performance. When he empties his pocket later he'll find Toney in there.
Esteve 7 - better
Taylor 7 - steady
Vitinho 8 - arguably his best performance in a Burnley shirt. He made the error in the run up to the second goal but boy did he make up for that with his track back to stop their attack. Fair play to the lad.
Cullen 8 - tick tock, tick tock. Keeps us moving.
Berge 7 - some great stuff, some poor stuff.
Larsen 7 - excellent workrate as ever, just needs that little extra something in the final third
Odobert 6 - not really in the game today.
Fofana 7 - I mean what a miss... but a lovely little finish for his goal.

Amdouni 4 - offers absolutely nothing presently and shouldn't be the first change every week. We would have been better bringing Jay on as they were clearly wanting to turn the game into a physical battle, which doesn't suit Zeki. That said, his confidence is gone and he needs something to drop for him.

I have to say a 5 today is cloud cuckoo land. He was immense and stood up to one of the most physical forwards in the league. Dara was brilliant.

Definitely a bit over the top with a 10 ,but most fans are basing not just his goalkeeping display but the effect it had on all the team ,and if that’s what we need to win a game ,the tempo of the play must have increase by at least 30%.

Muric 9 (light years ahead of anything else at the club whether he's the bees knees or no!)
Assignon 7 (showed real desire, although there was always going to be space after the sending off tbf)
O'Shea 8 (credit where it's due. He won pretty much every header. A great game)
Esteve 7
Taylor 7
Cullen 8 (Absolutely excellent!)
Berge 7
Oderbert 5 (really didn't put 10 men to the sword!)
Larsen 8
Fofana 6 (Grea finish for what proved to be the winner, but crikey, a couple of totally embarrassing misses too which could have been extremely costly!)

Andoumi 5

I actually enjoyed it in the end, but we showed why we're going down because despite dominating we couldn't put 10 men to bed and as every team knows, you're always in with a chance against Burnley!! Ridiculous we were struggling and hanging on at the end, but a win is a win and is very welcome after what we've witnessed so far this season.

Muric 9** - A lightbulb moment for Kompany? Whatever, he was at his brilliant best and MUST continue!
Assignon 8 - He was brilliant first half good second half
O'Shea 7 - Allowed a blooper  He battled well
Esteve 7 - Good game
Taylor 7 - Good game
Vitinho 9 - His energy, speed and effort merits praise.
Cullen 8 - The main man!
Berge 7 - I can see why he doesn't like to shoot with the weak effort!
Bruun Larsen 7 Stood up well and a good penalty
Odobert 6 - Better when moved to the left wing
Fofana 6 - Runs through treacle and an incredible miss

Amdouni 5 - Two decent efforts on target but correct to take him off and tighten midfield. He has a quick brain but a slow body.

Apart from the late nerves it was a decent team effort. Toney is a real handful and everything is fired through him but we stood up well. The Referee was extremely poor but at least he was consistent with both teams.

A bit late but today felt like we had won the League, so good to get that winning feeling!

From tv
Muric 10 after sitting on the bench for three quarters of the seaon, watching his team mates on the pitch play some absolutely dire football with p!ss poor results, he came on for his first PL game and gave a masterclass, lifting his team mates and the crowd, leading to three points at home. At the end of the game, the broadcast I watched focused on him, showing all his team mates hugging him and patting him on the back. That"s why he gets a 10 from me.
Assignon 8 best rb we've had under Kompany, though does make some naive errors.
O'Shea 5 sorry, but running around knocking the opposition over from behind is not my idea of a class cb.
Esteve 7 good performance under pressure
Taylor 7 worked hard supporting Larsen but could have got more crosses in.
Vitihno 7 energy and enthousiasm. Still needs to improve his final ball.
Cullen 8 kept recycling the ball and helped our ball retention.
Berge 8 some very good runs forward and didn't give the ball away
Larsen 7 wish he had a bit more pace to add to his skill
Obobert 6 good pass for Fofana goal, but drifts out of game to much
Fofana 6 one off for that incredible miss
Amdouni 5 wrong man to bring on at wrong time.

We could have won that game by three or four clear goals. Muric energised and changed the way we play totally: I would love to hear VK's thoughts on Muric playing his first PL game after sticking with young Trafford so long.

Assignon 8
O'Shea 7
Estève 7

Amazed that you were critical of folk for giving Muric a high rating and then you've given Vitinho a 6. Had a massive hand in both goals, created quite a few chances (first half he rolled one across the box for his man but the shot was blocked) and he covered loads of ground with lots of energy. It was arguably the best I've seen him play, seems a lot of others agree, but it seems that a few score him before he gets on the pitch.

If I'm honest scoring him a 6 today is much more bizarre than someone scoring Muric a 9 or a 10.

Muric -8 - two great saves and a clear upgrade on distribution

Assignon - 7
O’Shea - 6 - almost the villain
Esteve-7
Taylor -7 - really good job as the spare man on the left. Always an outlet.

Vitinho -9 after his error the effort to atone sprinting 70 yards was exemplary and kept the season alive. His best game.
Berge-7 - great ball for the 2nd goal. Wish he was a tad quicker in and around the box.
Cullen -7 - has to stay in.
Odobert - 6 - the weight on the pass to Fofana was perfect but we do need a bit more from him.

Fofana -7 should have had 3 but he is fast becoming a menace.
JBL - 7 - I’d like him to take his man on a bit more but he’s in a good vein of form.

Amdouni -5

VAR - 0 - the time taken to rule on the penalty was truly pathetic.

Yes it was against 10 men. Yes we made maybe harder work of it than we should. It’s 3 crucial points. I’ve grown tired of talking about how our displays warranted points. Today we got them.
By luck or design he is now putting the best XI out there and we’re picking up points.
If Forest are docked points on Monday which I expect we are bang in this.

The ratings aren’t a farce because they reflect what
the majority think and any anomalies get ironed out ( such as someone giving Vitinho a 6 can’t have been facing the pitch). The UTC player of the season award should be the most coveted because of the match by match scoring by so many.

Muric 9 confident and great comeback why didn’t he play earlier
Assignon 7
OShea 6 (-1 for awful error)
ESteve 7
Taylor 6 slow
Vitinho 8 excellent
Berge 7 quieter 2nd half
Cullen 7
JBL 7
Odobert 6
Fofana 7

Amdouni 5 poor substitution

2 glorious chances spurned and made hard work of it against ten men but we looked far more confident and more on the front foot, which started from the goalkeeper.

Muric - 9
Assignon - 7
Taylor - 6
O’Shea - 6
Esteve - 6
Berge - 7
Cullen - 7
Odebert - 6
Vitinho - 8
Fofana - 7
Larsen -7

Amdouni - 6

Considering we were up against 10 men the defence allowed Brentford a lot of decent chances which they either missed like Toney’s free header early in the first half and the saves Muric pulled off.

His tracking back before out 2nd was magnificent.

Works his butt off for the team.

Muric 9 his urgency to get the team going is so refreshing. Excellent
Assiggnon 8 played very well.
Estéve 7 looks a real prospect
O'Shea 7 good and bad moments
Taylor 6 moderate
Vitinho 9* Love the guy
Berge 8 Our best player.
Cullen 8 why has he not been playing??
Bruun Larsen 8 really improving every game
Odebert 7 reasonable
Fofana 8 excellent finish, especially after such a diabolical miss! Works bloody hard too.

Amdouni 4 looks so lightweight and off the pave, bottles any challenges

Muric 8 - couple of good saves, 1 slightly iffy moment right after he made the goal line clearance but the levels of his distribution compared to Trafford are so obvious
Assignon 7
O'Shea 7

Muric - 8 (Excellent distribution, good saves, iffy aerially and potentially fortunate with their disallowed goal).

Assignon- 7 (Lovely mobility, not 100% sure on his defensive skills)

O'Shea - 7 (Very solid against a top opponent)

Esteve - 7 (Best match for us. Looked composed)

Taylor - 7 (Solid. A little slow in possession)

Cullen - 8 (He has been the bigger miss than Muric. Lovely, crisp passing)

Berge - 7 (Reticent to shoot, but drives forwards well)

Vitinho - 8 - MOM (Energy, drive, summed up our spirit. Lacks thr final decision making)

Brun Larsen - 7 (Some lovely work and a great penalty)

Odobert - 6 (Disappointing today. Didn't impact the match much)

Fofana - 7 (lovely goal, some good movement, whilst occasionally disappearing. Loved his attempt to surprise their keeper)

Muric - 9. Immediate and massive improvement in distribution (the best in the league, and one of the best on the planet) and box command (not great but far better than Trafford). Shot stopping fantastic too with a pair of top stops. Usual chaos with Aro, can’t explain quite why he was taking free kicks 15 yards inside their half when we were 2-0 up, but I suppose he had to do it so we knew it was him.
Assignon - 7. Over enthusiastic is an understatement but did some good defending and good forward moves, was busy. Letting that ball go out for a throw was crazy, even for him.
Taylor - 7. His experience told at times.
O’Shea - 6. Won a few headers but nearly did an inexplicable “no look” own goal.
Esteve - 7. Toney is a handful and he kept him quiet.
Berge - 7. Class but what is this aversion to shooting?
Cullen - 7. Brentford don’t really have the powerhouse Josh struggles against.
Odobert - 6. Not much space for him but looked to stay involved.
Vitinho - 9 MOM. Fantastic performance even before his game winning 70 yard chase and tackle.
Fofana - 6. Little was coming off, missed a sitter, greedy when mugging the keeper, then scored a nice finish. Will miss him at Chelsea.
Larsen -7. A bit slow and predictable coming inside onto that right foot, but clever and a good penalty.

Amdouni - 6. Did fine, conjured 2 shots on target, his forte, and got in a vital and brave tackle to stop a breakaway for which he was carded.

In many ways we played worse than in some other games. Palace H, West Ham H, West Ham A, Bournemouth H - all better than today but fewer points. We were lucky that Reguillon had a moment of madness, nobody told him Burnley cannot win at home unless opponents lose a man in the first half.

More than anything, we looked a team who don’t know how to win. Almost engineered a way to lose it. I think they needed the celebrations at the end, ok they acted like we had just secured survival, but you enjoy the moment, then come again.

Update. I keep Muric at 8 and think he can be better aerially but seeing the highlights it was a clear foul on him.

Totally agree and turning the player ratings into a farce
Like I said earlier very few performances merit a 10, or a 3 but we knew what would happen today from some posters at 2pm whatever the outcome of the game was

It always makes me cringe when people criticise or question opinions on this thread it is purely subjective and who can say whether someone’s opinion is right or wrong. Every week some people mark down or up based on there opinion of an individual and not totally on there performance but they are entitled to do that if that is what they want to do.

Muric 8 - One really good stop and quick, incisive distribution. Biggest credit I can give him is that corners were less arse clenchingly horrid as he actually came out and challenged for the ball.

Assignon 7 - Lots of good work today (great play to put it on a plate for Fofana who somehow missed) but the odd bizarre decision.

O’Shea 7 - Ridiculous lapse aside, I thought he was decent.

Esteve 7 - Probably his best game for us thus far.

Taylor 7 - Solid down the left. Terrible crossing for the most part but it’s never been his forte.

Cullen 8 - We’re so much better with him in the side.

Berge 7 - Compliments Cullen brilliantly but his reticence to have a dig from the MANY great positions he finds himself in drives me potty.

Vitinho 8 - Hardest working player we have. If the likes of Odobert and Amdouni had his heart they would be too good for Burnley. Makes errors undoubtedly, but unlike too many others in our squad he tries to make amends for them rather than feeling sorry for himself. What a recovery that was before our 2nd.

JBL 7 - Struggled to beat his full back much considering the amount of times he committed him, but he worked hard all game and great pen.

Odobert 5 - Not for me. Weak on the ball and too in and out.

Fofana 6 - +1 for the goal, but was a drop in performance from what he offered against West Ham.

Muric 8 - Splendid 1 on 1 save in the 1st half, distribution quick and virtually faultless, dealt with the aerial battering, and seemed to inspire confidence in the back 4 - oh and spared O'Shea's blushes. A very good performance.
Assignon 7 - did well up against Toney, and good combinations with Vitinho on the right, set up Fofana with a glorious chance in the 1st half. Ball does tend to get stuck under his foot.
O'Shea 6 - physical day for him today and was up for it but nearly cost us with a "No look" pack pass and allowed a quick free kick from Toney to set up Wissa.
Estève 7 - good game today, took lots of 2nd balls that had been hoofed up to their forwards. Decent distribution without anything telling.
Taylor 7 - strong and got up the pitch well to try to create things with Bruun Larsen and Berge, but creativity isn't really his strong point.
Vitinho 8 - won the pen, and that recovery to retrieve his cock was immense. worked so very hard and now looks much stronger.
Berge 7 - at times looks and runs like a carthorse, but his control, drop of the shoulder and perceptive passing is that of a thoroughbred - just wish he'd get a shot away a bit quicker
Cullen 8 - recycled it well, a good game from him
Bruun Larsen 7 - was up against a decent fullback, had a lot of the ball --another who had a good game; and a banging penalty.
Odobert 5 - anonymous from him today
Fofana 6 - didn't get a lot of change from Collins and Co but took his goal well; sadly missed a sitter when Assignon set him up in the 6 yard box, and although he did well to hide from and rob the keeper his lack of appreciation to play in Odobert was disappointing. Too greedy.

Amdouni 4 - a sub, subbed tells it all really.

Silly mark for Odobert when he created a few openings and set up the second goal with a lovely weighted pass.

I don’t think poor marks for O’Shea are farcical at all. The outrageous mistake for the almost own goal was inexplicable. It was suicidal to pass back at that pace into the centre of your own goal. Every defender worth their salt knows that if you pass back, you go outside the goalposts so you never put your goalkeeper in that position. Not only that but he switched off for the goal (along with a few others whose marks I also docked) and had a few other moments he got away with. There’s an overriding feeling that he’s a massive mistake waiting to happen. Got away with it today.

Hard to rate as we playes mostbof the game against 10 but apart from the last 15 they never looked like scoring
Muric 7 - comfortable saves, intimidating and (mostly) good distribution - a good start
Assignon 7 - tireless today and got forward aggressively
O shea 7 did pretty well but a stupid error almost cost is points
Esteve 7 for the most part really effective
Taylor 7 - solid enough
Vitinho 8 - put in a real shift today
Cullen 7 - tidy and used the ball well
Berge 8 (mom) - dictated play well
JBL 7 - improving and a good game - not sure why he was subbed and not ...
Odobert 5 - completely anonymous (except the assist but frankly I'd expect most of our players to be able to made that pass)
Fofana 8 - tireless, good finish and makes up in heart and endeavour what he lacks in finesse.

Subs weren't on long enough - Amdouni was rightly hooked after another disappointing performance. Brownhill added a body ba k into midfield.

Overall we made hard work of the last 15 mins (plus 4 hours stoppages!!!!) When we weirdly pulled of an effective player and added an ineffective one. After a brief few minutes flurry the Bees realised we had lost our grip with varying 2 passengers and went for it. Bizarre sub to bring Amdouni on given how much better we loom without him. Fortunately Vince hooked him after they scored

Toney was absolutely dogger today and has been since his return.
O'Shea was poor today.
Bumba I hope you’re taking the proverbial. Dara was excellent today apart from the poor back pass. Made a well wanted centre look very ordinary today ‘laughable!’

It’s probably a pipe dream but the thread title is “player ratings” so could posters please just rate the players’ performance as they see it. For me the thread gets spoiled by ratings being criticised and other comments like someone abusing their position. Ratings are subjective with no one’s ratings being right or wrong.

Absolutely ridiculous to be awarding 10s for Muric. It was an excellent performance. It was not out of this world.

Muric 8

O'Shea 5
Esteve 6
Taylor 6
Vitinho 7
Cullen 7
Berge 8 ⭐️
Bruun Larsen 7
Odobert 4
Fofana 6

Amdouni 4
If Muric’s performance was excellent- using your own word. Why only score him an 8?
