Pleased for him. A solid display - can't be easy having not played a first team game in a long while.

Re: Norris
I see that he is 27 already, but has played very little league football. Be interesting to see how he fairs relative to Peacock-Farrell in the medium term.

Re: Norris
Didn't he save two added time penalties playing for Cambridge against Stanley?
I remember reading when he signed he knew Nick Pope as they played for Royston Town at the same time - not sure who was first choice 'keeper!
Well done today

Re: Norris
Just pulled this from his Wikipedia page:
Edit
On 14 August 2020, Norris signed a three-year deal for Burnley for an undisclosed fee. After saving 2 penalties on his full debut, he has been described as the best English Norris since Coronation Streets Norris Cole. [30]

His kicking was poor, nowt to really do in the game, 2 good penalty saves though.
Re: Norris
His distribution including his kicking was excellent. Far better than Pope’s.

Not sure which game you were watching. His kicking was excellent, as was his throwing out. His kicking looked far more solid than NPs.claretandy wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 9:12 amHis kicking was poor, nowt to really do in the game, 2 good penalty saves though.

Every game, it was the Leeds documentary...he was useless, they bought a foreign keeper to replace him he was also useless,a bit like the current Leeds keeper...time will tell, but cant see him ever being No1 for us just simply not good enough...imo.Hapag Lloyd wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 9:29 amWas that every game, home and away, or a weekly highlights programme ?

To be fair if you have Sky then it wasn't difficult to watch Leeds home and away for the past 2 or 3 seasons. They almost had their own channel.Hapag Lloyd wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 9:29 amWas that every game, home and away, or a weekly highlights programme ?

Re: Norris
From an article on the BFC official site:
We didn’t really need the extra-time but it was good to get through,” said Norris, who was called into action after an ankle injury to Nick Pope forced the England keeper to take a place on Burnley’s bench.
Norris saved the day with two great penalty saves but I hope that Pope is back for the Utd game.

Re: Norris
Don't recall Nick Pope being anything special at Charlton. BPF is 24 years old and still learning his trade so with the help of Billy Mercer he has already improved significantly. Suggest you watch a few more games that he plays in than singling out the City game for us. Do you think Nick Pope would've done any better ? I know of a keeper coach at a decent level who felt that he was unlucky and didn't do a great deal wrong in that game...Steve1956 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 9:38 amI suggest you watch this it will open your eyes about Peacock.

But still what does a UEFA level coach know about goalkeeping that you don't Steve
Re: Norris
Did well with the 2 pen saves, other than that he wasn’t really tested, apart from a couple of saves he’d be expected to make. Think BPF is still the definite no2, far more experience and also a full international

Re: Norris
I thought BPF looked good against City at home and Millwall away but had a bit of a shocker against City away. Norris looked ok yesterday but, barring the penalty shoot out, didn’t have much to do. Pope is still our best keeper by some distance though and offers an extra dimension to both of the other two with his ability to take high balls.

Re: Norris
Norris did ok but it’s hard to judge from that game.
BPF had an absolute shocker at City regardless of what any UEFA badged coach thinks. That’s not to say he’s a bad player but he had a stinker that day.

Re: Norris
Here we go: 2 saves in a penalty shoot out vs a L1 team and he's already better than the bloke our management see as 2nd choice.

Re: Norris
Might be in the sticks again Tuesday dependent on how bad Pope’s ankle injury is. If Norris plays Tuesday we will get to find out more about him because he’s certain to be busier.

Re: Norris
There is a lot of space on the scale of assessing goalkeepers between useless and solid first choice premier league keeper. Massive drama queenery to deem him useless.
