Re: Arijanet Muric
That's just not a fair assessment at all. O'Shea hits it at a fair pace to outpace Toney, and puts it right into the bottom right corner(from our side, left facing the goal) without looking. Muric is in an easy position to receive a back side pass leftwards. I'll reiterate it's poor from O'Shea, I ...

Re: Arijanet Muric
You're very wrong here mate. Not to mention Dara didn't even pass to the centre of the goal - it was literally in the corner? Goalies are taught to take up a position for back passes in that sort of situation there outside of the goals so that if it bobbles or whatever it's not going into the net. ...

Re: Arijanet Muric
Well actually schoolboys might but pro goalies? Correct position - he was making an angle for a safe backpass and to get an angle for continuing our play out from the back. That simple, Dara just had a brainfart. The evidence suggests it was anything but a safe angle, he's way out of his goals. Dar...

Nowhere near like the Luton incident at all. Toney ran at Muric full pelt without even having eyes on the ball and the ball was literally going top bins ie Muric couldn't run and get momentum to collect it, vastly different scenarios. The second incident was less like Luton than the first but if th...

He played well but it's one game and we were playing against 10 men for the most of it. There were also two fouls given to him in similar situations to the Luton goal, where he perhaps should have been stronger. The pass from Trafford is a result of our style and naivety. Not the individual. Absolutely nothing to suggest Muric wouldn't be making the same decisions, at best.
Nothing Brownhill could do who we now lose for 3 games.

Muric 6 - execution was reasonably good. Some very poor game management though and heavily at fault for the goal when we needed to relieve some pressure. He invited pressure on multiple occasions in the first half also. Vitinho 5 - whole hearted but struggled at times in the first half v Johnson and...

Trafford 8 - made a number of very good saves. His distribution was also pretty good, a couple of excellent passes to pick out Vitinho. Trafford 5 - a real mixed bag with his distribution. At least looks longer more often when needed now. Not a lot to do otherwise. Trafford isn't playing with Ekdal infront of him though? I do agree though Ekdal would help with our frailties from set pieces. I'm not sure either goalkeeper is really Premier League level at this moment, but you can say that about a number of the team.

Muric has his strengths over Trafford don't get me wrong
But if you think he makes a difference today positively then you're forgetting Sheff UTD last season. I've also not seen Trafford make a mistake akin to that Muric made against Watford last season.

Redmond was terrible today after coming on I'm afraid. I'm not sure our playing out better from the back is wholly down to Muric. Everton don't press as high as a lot of the other teams have done this season and are quite happy to let us have the ball.
In saying that we've worked a couple of good openings, just the final moment hasn't quite been there.

The only real reason we played better for the last 10 mins of the game really is because Bournemouth abandoned their press and sat back, which further emphasises the fact that when we are playing around with it at the back and the opposition starts to put pressure on, we fold and go backwards. Just seen it on MOTD. A definite pen, what's his arm doing in that position?
Only positives from yesterday were that we performed much better after going 2-1 behind and created enough moments to snatch a point. Albeit it was against a pretty poor Bournemouth side.

Two sitting midfielders from Cullen, Brownhill and Cork has to be absolutely fundamental in our setup. As does playing fullbacks in their natural positions.
