Good job we've got a second pre season then. Chance for Maatsen, Tella and THB to get up to speed. ;)

Will last seasons loan players be with the squad in Portugal? Could be useful in case we manage to make some pemanent or renew.

Recoup as much as we can from the original fee.. put that towards using McNally in a package to get Gyokeres and maybe O'Hare if he's still on VK's radar. Having watched Barnes this season, I honestly don't think Weghorst would do any better and his age doesn't fit the club's buy low sell high prof...

Just listened to VKs presser and he was asked about Vieras sacking. His response was very clear, analytical, fulsome and he didn't sit on the fence. Excellent as we've come to expect.

I would have thought that to stand a chance of getting Hadziametovic we would need to have agreed a deal today given the paperwork that will need to be completed before midnight tomorrow. Don't think it's going to happen ...regrettably

I'd like to see our wide players getting to the byeline and pulling the ball back for our forwards to run on to the ball. That happened against is twice v Brighton and I think it will prove more effective than putting hopeful aerial balls into the box.

I thought Gallagher for Swansea was excellent in a losing game.
Just our sort of midfielder.

Get back in for him Sean.
I agree. He certainly caught the eye and had a great egine on him. We're we ever in the running for him?

Seems like a Dyche type player. Maybe one to consider in Jan if he's still at Chelsea given our lack of cover in midfield

Danny Drinkwater

Read that Chelsea are looking to offload him abroad. Could he not do a job for us as a loan player? Possibly with an option to purchase at the end of the season. Wages would be an issue but perhaps Chelsea could help out there till the end of the season as City have done with Joe Hart?

Clarets Fans in Carnforth area??

Afternoon. I was wondering if there are any fellow Clarets living in or near Carnforth. I'm in Levens and would be keen to share lifts. In fact I met a fellow fan from that area outside Wembley (v Spurs) this season but stupidly mislaid contact details. Hopefully this works!

Agree entirely with OP and so do a few people around me at the match yesterday including Turf Topper. JBG doesn't quite cut it at this level but Brady does. Taylor has pace and a great delivery from the left as we saw v Rovers plus defensive instinct so will track back.

He's similar to Westwood in terms of his passing ability and vision on the ball but a key difference is his ability to get on the end of a set piece especially at the back post.

MOTM at the Amex tonight. Did the simple things well. Kept possession and kept the ball moving although mostly sideways rather than through the channels but with Knockaert out wide then why wouldnt you. Reminded me of Marney not flash but effective and can see why Dyche rates him.
