Two hands in his back helping him is what I, and the both commentators saw. Suppose it shows how different eyes see things differently On live viewing it was stonewall, on replay Fullkrug was under the ball got a gentle hand in his back and contorted himself to make it look like a shove. The winner.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Wed May 01, 2024 9:22 pmIn this scenario it could end 16-15 as there are 31 pts up for grabs (27+4)
The alternative is:
15 reds + in off=player gets4 away+2=6
Opponent gets 3
Player gets 4
Opponent gets 5
Player gets 6 and wins. Black not needed
Game ends 16-8

Alan Stevenson was an ever present in 72/3 & only missed 2 games the following season, with Finn playing at Chelsea & Parton at Man Utd. Finn did play against Spurs but that was in 74/5 & was his last 1st team appearance. If you take 72/3 & 73/4 as our best seasons of the decade, then besides the r...

Re: Team of the Seventies question please ?
In April ‘73, when Alan Stevenson didn’t play, it was little Micky Finn that kept nets against Spurs in a home win that was on MotD. I’m guessing Billy Rodaway would have been the CB cover. Brian Flynn just behind Billy Ingham for MF. We were so lucky to get away with such a small squad, very few in...

I think there was a final in the 80's that went to the last black. Think it was when outsider Joe Johnson beat Steve Davis who was the world #1 at the time. BBC2 had an hour of a programme about the match a couple of days back. I’d have preferred the full frame but as posted above it is available.

Re: National League play off semis.
Altrincham were a top non league team in the 80s always fancied to be one of the first teams up when it was possible. It never happened which is a shame . We played them in the FA Cup, 83-84ish. They were bad mouthing us pre-game but we sent them home with their tail between their legs, 6-1 I think.

I’d go further. Automatic relegation for any breach of financial regs. These clubs have top barristers, lawyers and accountants. If they can’t do it legally screw ‘em. Portsmouth also won the FA Cup under corrupt ownership to add to the list above. Leicester and M’boro got promoted after having play...
