There was stage during this season when I thought we were certainties to go down.
How perverse is football that we can actually be talking about survival.
It will be the almighty above us that will ensure our Premiership status.

My favourite Burnley player of all time. The best memory of him comes from the time we played Sunderland at the old Roker Park ( 1978?) stood on an uncovered Roker end, absolutely pouring with rain. It didn’t seem to matter, Both Leighton and Steve Kindon conspired to destroy the opposition that eve...

Re: RATE THE REF - Darren England v Chelsea
Has to be - and there have been a number - the worst ever referee ever to have officiated a Burnley game. He was so unbelievably biased in his decision making seeming to offer for example disproportionate punishment to our defender for such a limp challenge in the penalty area. I cannot give any mea...

Now that common sense seems to have been established, eg Muric in goal , Fofarna ( excuse spelling) up front , Berge being Berge at last, Foster fit, let’s give it a good old go to the last game and see where that gets us.

While I’ve been pondering whether to use Watercress a couple of days after it’s sell by date, I consider this metaphor on the current state of BFC. I think this subject captures the very reason we are second from bottom.
I have never seen so many passes go astray as when I saw the game at Brentford (21st October).
Essentially gifting the opposition goals.
Contrast this with the slick accurate passing last season .
It’s simply not good enough.

You know I would agree with this. Hardwood Bellis, Maatsen and Beyer at the back would, mostly likely with Tella up front, have beaten this Brentford side. It is no exaggeration to say that Brentford might have been 12 - 0 up at half- time but for a few good saves from Trafford and our good fortune.

Despite only having played precious few seasons, every contributor pretty much placed Trevor Steven in their top four. He went on to become key player for England in Italia. 90.
