Are you Devils Advocate's in Disguise?
Proved my point. All the dullards stick together while the cool guys still look and dress good. You'll all be shopping for your clothes in charity shops.

Re: Albums you have forgotten how good they are.

All these albums like ten years after, led zep etc, was the stuff all the dull crowd listened to at school, whereas the cool kids were into soul and going to the wheel and the birdcage in Ashton under lyne.

Re: Mala’s tribute to Edwin Starr

Yes sorry, don’t know why I put late 90’s it was late 80’s early 90’s Cheers mate. I agree with that. Early 90s was when the soul crews kids were getting older and they could return to the scene. It had gone underground again at that stage , but Stafford and the 100 club carried the scene through a...

Re: Mala’s tribute to Edwin Starr

Had the pleasure of seeing Edwin Starr on several scooter rallies in the late 90’s. At the time 60’s soul and Northern was completely finished, and had been for some time. I remember the excitement of hearing that King Georges were planning to revive a Northern night while at Whitley Bay… The north...

Hipper, have you ever heard of approvals in avistion? Trust me, you cannot legally do anything if an approval has expired, be it on a part, tyre or licence to pilot a plane.

Re: Nice pubs/bars and cafés - town centre

Burnley is absolutely dire for decent eating places and nice homely pubs compared to towns of a similar size. If you want to try some of the places mentioned I would take some air freshener with you. There are one or two reasonable places, but Ramsbottom, Rawtenstall, Clitheroe and Whalley have far ...

He's not replacing Pickford any time soon, so there's no benefit to him or us meeting up with the squad. Travelling all over etc..

Let him get back to his best at Burnley and resting when he can.
I would have thought training with world class players would be beneficial for him and us?

We used to come to Burnley around 73 to 74, but went to the Rose Room. Great place and good music.

But we don't have freedom of movement any more. As can be seen by the lack of lorry drivers and fruit pickers. Brexit just keeps on giving.....

Re: 24 Hours in Police Custody New Series

One thing I've noticed over the years on these programmes, a lot of Eastern European girls get trafficked here to work in the sex industry......something that never really gets mentioned but it's clearly done with ease due to FoM....just sayin. I can't agree that it doesn't get mentioned in the med...

Re: c19 pre-travel covid test

I genuinely didn't know how I prove that Ive been double jabbed. I don't have the NHS app. I had the NHS Covid app, but switched it off when I kept getting notifications that someone I had been near MAY have been tested positive. I didn't need that in my life, so I just deactivated it. You may be g...

Re: Maxwell Cornet

Wow. Some over the top comments on a cameo performance. Let's look at him after 10 games and then comment. You don't get much for 13m these days in the Premier league. I'm going to be controversial and say that I wasn't too impressed, but hopefully when Maxwell settles in he will be better than Dwig...

Whilst not condoning the behaviour of both sets of fans, what would people think of the set tos in the 70s. I am sure that today's fans would basically s**t themselves.

I remember Vince Overson scoring from just over the halfway line in a 3-3 draw with Wimbledon.
He scored from around 40 yards and was well in the Wimbledon half. It was an absolute belter though. I think the game was televised.

Re: Played or manged your fiercest local rivals.

I don't know if this topic has already been discussed, but Benitez crossing the Merseyside divide, and the initial hostility of the Everton's fans got me wondering how many guys haver played or indeed managed 2 fierce local rivals. A few famous examples to start us off. Coyle naturally (managed us ...

Re: Burnley’s furthest ever goal

A goal kick is restarting the game when the ball has gone out of play. The rules changed recently and you can score from one.
The goalkeeper scoring with a kick from his hands or in open play is a clearance.
To my knowledge, no goalkeeper has ever scored from a goal kick.

Re: COVID Spot Checks - Premier League

I wonder if the anti passport posters have a reason for not wanting the checks? 90% of people over 16 in the UK have had at least one jab. In Burnley that figure is only 76%.
So a quarter of Burnley fans could be turned away on a probability basis.

Re: Pendle Mountain

Came across this on wiki. This is a list of P600 mountains in Britain and Ireland by height. A P600 is defined as a mountain with a topographic prominence above 600 m (1,969 ft), regardless of elevation or any other merits (e.g. topographic isolation); this is a similar approach to that of the Maril...
