Re: Clarets vs Rovers

A while since I posted, but only fair I make one now. Fair play to you - no question about which team deserved the win. I would have accepted defeat, but I'm massively disappointed that we simply didn't turn up. Was it one meek shot on target the whole game for us? Practically speaking, I'm not too ...

Re: Today's football 14/08

:x You won't give a toss because you don't live in East Lancashire. Where I live the town is split so the rivalry intense We 8 bastards I don't live in East Lancashire these days, but had a season ticket for around 20 years until moving away several years ago, but I experienced the away day twice a...

Re: Today's football 14/08

Some folks obsession with Blackburn is really weird I don’t give a damn what they’re doing one way or another. Then I'd ask why you even bother following the game if that's your attitude. A big part of club football is about local rivalries. Half of my family are Burnley supporters, and half Rovers...

Re: Today's football 14/08

I’ll worry about Rovers results after Christmas. They quite often start seasons like this but fade. Hopefully (from my point of view) it's all change. Mowbray was a persistent Christmas Cornerer. Something I remember you lot being famous for. In reality, we haven't played superbly so far, but I thi...

Re: Well done Alan Pace.

All these posts regarding he is a big risk, totally unproven, inexperienced etc is not helpful at all. Vinny will probably be looking at these posts..so just get behind Pace, Kompany, his staff and Burnley Football Club. Grow up and give some positive support. If you consider Wagner and Farke, both...

Re: And so it begins…..

Aye it's bobbins the traffic. I live about 2 miles away from Hale Barns, and in the morning heading up the M56 towards the M60 is a nightmare until you get past the M61 junction, then generally a breeze from there. Getting to that junction though can take longer than the rest of the journey to Burn...

Re: And so it begins…..

If Kompany beats Tomasson on this it'll leave me feeling really flat. Before I get my coat, I used to drive through Hale Barns (did somebody call it Barnes) every day for work. I didn't live "up here" at that point, but I think it's still a slight slog of a journey, and traffic can be hit and miss o...

Re: Tomasson confirmed down the road

As a Rovers fan, Tomasson seems a good appointment for us on paper. Our owners employed your very own Agent Kean once upon a time, and a good few plodders since then, but this one at least has logic and merit behind it. Seems like we both have a rebuild job on our hands, albeit I'm sure you'll be sp...

Re: Name the next manager

Foolish or not, Rovers have specifically said that he hasn't got a work permit yet. https://twitter.com/Rovers/status/1536604330454818816?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet Whoops. :D I did read that the LT suggested there would be no complications like there supposedly had been ...

Re: Name the next manager

Tomasson's Rovers versus somebody's Clarets It's nailed on that you've got Kompany, so probably nothing to worry about. The work permit thing is odd, though. Tomasson has a UEFA Pro Licence. It looks like Kompany has the same. Apparently Tomasson was decided upon towards the end of last week, at wh...

Re: Name the next manager

Sorry to intrude, but for my own curiosity, what coaching qualifications does Kompany have to make him eligible for an International Sportspersons visa for the manager's job?

Re: Name the next manager

I've got to admit I was excited with the thought of dropping to the Championship because of all the local derbies. Matches will mean more this year for sure and we will win far more games than in the last few years. Combine that with a new attacking football style, and I can't wait for it to get st...

Re: Name the next manager

Rovers fan in peace (again). JDT looks like a decent appointment on paper for us. He's got a lot of work to do in the next couple of months, but I think most Rovers supporters are just relieved it wasn't Simon Grayson. Regarding Kompany, sounds like you're announcing him today or tomorrow. The work ...

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover

If you lot keep hold of Bradley Dack and Bereton(and they stay fit) I don't see any reason why you won't challenge again. Don't think Dack will go. He had several cameo appearances since returning from his second ACL repair, but looks like he's lost a yard or two to me. He needs a pre-season under ...

Re: ALK Capital or Farnell/Elkashashy takeover

Rovers fan in peace. Firstly, commiserations on your relegation (genuinely). Whilst we're bitter rivals, and we'll always want to get one over each other, it's sad to see a fellow northern club from the local area out of the top flight, only to be replaced by the likes of Bournemouth or even Fulham....
