Re: New ground
What is it if not backwards? Only other word that comes to mind is selfishness. With the greatest amount of respect, the folk saying leave it as it is are mostly of an age when times were simpler and they want things as they were accustomed to when they were younger, because that's what they had or...

Re: Frustrated/angry - more sensible Bournemouth reaction
I think we can all accept at times that we'll play poorly and get beat. But the more I watch us the more they show there is no togetherness; there's no spirit in this team, no band of brothers, no leader(s). This is what will ultimately take us down. We can't even scrap for a point/draw. A bunch of ...

Vizeh has a target audience, most people on here aren't it. To come on here and bash a fellow Claret who does loads to promote the club smacks of pure jealousy. He's not promoting the Club; he's promoting himself and his passion! No problem at all with that; he can do and express what he wants: it'...

This has been the fundamental problem in 3 games so far, ******* about at the back against teams that are better than us. Re: Vincent Kompany
Don't see why there's all the discussion really. We've go no full-backs and no central midfield! Playing someone in a number 10 role who's got no-one to link up with (apart from one striker surrounded by 3/4 defenders) and a keeper who's played League 1 at the highest and had no summer break at all....

Why will they be better? in my opinion, and I welcome a challenge, they will offer a perspective not seen before, a la Wenger et al. Initiatially sneered at due to lack of "top flight" experience they will bring a dimension not seen before. Admittedly this may rattle a few old ones, but those that ...

Re: Tonight's football
The thing that really shocked me was how wide open they were; they had no central midfield. I think it was the second or third after an absolutely awful pass from Tarky (who looked shockingly sloppy and bad) and Newcastle just run 50 yards right through the middle of the park and scored! You don't g...

Re: Italy v England Euro 2024 qualifier
This is getting a bit weird now, not least because I’m generally pretty positive about England. I think it’s ok to acknowledge that it was a good result, but that this is a poorer version of Italy than there’s been for a while. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Let them sink their head in the sand. T...

Re: Italy v England Euro 2024 qualifier
Some bizarre comments on here. Outstanding first half, should have been at least 3, Italy came at us second half and got the crowd up, it was difficult… yet they still only created one chance from a gift. Proper solid win. Could have been, and should have been, so much more easier. It just feels li...

They are the current European champions Yeah, and 12 months later failed to reach the WC. Got knocked out by NORTH MACEDONIA. Bellingham is not a holding midfielder, you have no idea what you're talking about and clearly didn't watch the first half, absolutely dominant against a very good Italian side, 2nd half not so easy and here you come with the negative ******** whilst you were silent in the first half. I'd have take...

Re: Italy v England Euro 2024 qualifier
This is why you can't trust Southgate. Exactly the same is happening as the EURO Final: not learning from past mistakes. We did everything right the first half; just go out and do the same second half and get 4/5. Instead, we sit back and let them have the ball. I don't care if we win in the end bec...

Re: Burnley vs. Inter Milan
In the Clarets Chronicles book, it has us doing an Italy tour post-season in May/June 1922, where we played in Milan against Liverpool, before some other Italian XI teams. But San Siro hadn't even been built in 1922 so it can't have been there.
Nothing about playing in Sept 1926.

Just been looking on Twitter and saw that someone replied on the Inter Milan English page saying their first ever game at San Siro was against Burnley!!
Is this true? Did we play Inter at San Siro in the past? Anyone know about it?

If Brownhill's effort that hit the post goes in, it's game over. And we could have had a few before HT.
Fair play to Millwall who never gave up and kept looking for a goal. But who cares that they equalised. We're miles ahead and are gonna win the title. I'm having a beer and brandy to celebrate!

Great second half from KC, with Eagles slightly off compared to first. Pacheco superb and Mahones with an injury led them brilliantly.
Eagles can feel unfortunate, not sure what else they could've done. KC hung in there and showed their class at the end.

Just shows how competitive, and generally shite, the league is.
They're all much of the same. And the gap just shows how far ahead we are after only half a season.
I'd put a grand on us without hesitation being pretty much up. What are the current odds?
