I use a garmin forerunner 35. Does everything I basically need, connects direct to garmin connect on my phone & laptop. Picked it up on offer from amazon for £75.

Agree on asics. Being on the slightly heavy side I need cushioning in the shoe. Have used asics cumulus for last 20 years or so and never had any issues.
