0-0 it was in August 1950 with Burnley having won 2-1 at Bloomfield Road eight days earlier with two Billy Morris goals. Attendance at the Turf was 38,688. Lots of activity on Ebay regarding that programme with 3 days still to go, price is now heading towards £20.

Yes the Big Freeze affected lots of games but this one at Turf Moor on 26th Jan 1963 still went ahead.

What was the capacity of Turf Moor in the 1950/51 season, somebody told me it was over 50,000?

My father worked in Retail always had to work on a Saturday, so I was limited to midweek night games for quite a few seasons.

My first ever visit to Turf Moor to watch Burnley was in August 1950 to watch Burnley play Blackpool. I remember it was a 0-0 draw and the ground was packed partly due to Stan Matthews playing for Blackpool. Does anybody have a copy of this 1950/51 Burnley v Blackpool programme for sale?
