Not sure if we would've ever fielded one whilst in the Prem. We always had a few Irish players in the squad, and that's before you factor in regular starters from more far flung corners like JBG and Wood. Someone will have the answer

Very well-observed but I agree, seems so much better and more fitting to do it before the match. Not sure if his loved ones were consulted about their preference? If they were and were listened to then can't have any qualms.

Seemed a ridiculously small amount of stewarding first half. Then at half time about 50 more turned up. Where'd they been for the past 45 minutes?

We also had a pretty unimpressive start to our title winning season under Dyche, and remained fairly unconvincing up until that Boxing Day loss at Hull. The rest is history.

Don’t think that’s a surprise to anyone to be honest. We’re a club from a small town, we have fewer fans than all the other teams in the division from much larger towns and cities. Full credit to Leeds fans, by the way, whose average attendance was almost 10,000 higher than their ground’s capacity.

At the very least I like the prospect of us, Rovers, PNE and Blackpool being in the same division for the first time in six decades. I’m starting to look forward to it, too. Time will tell if my optimism is horrendously misplaced or not!
