Re: Has Costa had his head turned by offer from China?
He'd be bonkers not to see the season out given Chelsea's position, China will still be there after he picks up his winners medal.

Re: La La Land & Manchester By the Sea
I take it you've seen La La Land then, because I know you wouldn't make that kind of judgement on how good it is without having seen it. Didn't make any judgement about the film at all, just stated that it is clearly inspired by classic Hollywood musicals and the awards love to reward Hollywood nos...

Saint's been a bit lackluster of late but still enough quality to put us to the sword.
Will have to keep it tight and play smart.

Next on my list of much hyped award fodder to watch is Hunt for the Wilderpeople which does look v.funny.
La La Land will do well at the awards because Hollywood narcissistically loves a film that pays tribute to classic Hollywood (The Artist, Saving Mr Banks etc)

I would imagine his lawyer was there because somebody just posted a fake, libelous news story about him. Don't be surprised when trump sues Buzzfeed out of existence. Like Hogan did with Gawker Trump threatens to sue everyone, settles the few cases which ever make it to court. Hogan was just a shil...

Grosicki, Narsingh, Cleverly.
Deals not done but by other clubs but starting to get a little demoralizing as it seem's were pipped to the post for everyone we look at.

Re: Narsingh
Grosicki might be off to Boro. Narsingh to Swans maybe. High chance it's going to get a bit tiring as everyone we were first linked to goes elsewhere. Not a having a go just a result of having the shallowest pockets in the league. Would have hoped our league position and the strong chance of a start...

Re: Corbyn & the earnings limit
He won't give a figure though so let's imagine he says £500,000 per year. Reasonable?. Didn't put a figure on it but did ask "Why would someone need to earn more than £50m a year?" which is a valid question. There comes a point where you have more money than you would ever need to live in luxury. W...

Re: Hull get Niasse on loan
Less that £1m for a rest of the season signing isn't awful If he can get them more than a handful of goals.
Some players just don't fit at some teams but he had to have the stats/skills for Everton to sign off 13m for him.

Re: How is January for you so far?
To be truthful I can see it being a bit of a stinker. Everyone is struggling even if you have the money, theres no decent players out there... This is how it seems right now, I won't mind If we don't do any more business If the other teams struggle too. But If our direct rival's do snap up what qua...

Re: Bringing More Asians to the Turf
There are outdated views and then there are precious people who want to take some sort of faux moral high ground. If someone had used the term "slanty eyes", or "nip" then it would be seen as offensive. Calling someone a "Jap" is just shortening the word, like has been pointed out above with the us...

The cultural differences, attractions to different things such as bling, not buying into the tradition and history and the fact they will not spend the money all come into it. From what l know muslims can't be seen to mix with people who indulge in alcohol gambling, neither can they associate or pa...

Change will come when a lot of the people currently around are dead and the children who grew up in a globally connected world and see nationalism as a WWI hangover can get on with things.

Re: Andre Gray to West Ham for £10m?
You're correct that he isn't a proven Premier League striker... But just because he isn't doesn't mean that he's worth barely more than he was worth two years ago. Didn't actually say he wasn't worth more, already made light of the bid earlier in the thread. Just countering an assertion that he's a...

a guy who has just proved that he can be an effective top-league striker. I'm still not sure a goal and a hatrick against two championship sides in the Prem proves he's a top flight striker, jury still very much out for me. Not saying he's not learning and improving though, already equaled Vardy's ...

It doesn't help the case that we often resort to route one hoof ball: long ball from the keeper, flick on, shot and some fortune with the keeper. We're can't rely on getting goals like that, 3 lovely crosses into the box from Defour withing minutes of coming on showed us what we've missed in him.

Re: Guaranteed Basic Income for All
There is a difference between what a person needs to simply survive in some measure of dignity and getting everything they ever wanted for free. It's assumed BI should go toward shelter, food and clothing. If you want a new TV, sky box etc (luxury consumer goods) then of course you work for it. Slig...

Trump is just Nigel Farage on steroids and would be a side note If America had more than a two party system.
