A bit of a let down........thought the punishment would be greater.
3 point deduction for a significant breach of the rules
3 point deduction for circumstances and scale of the admitted breach
Less 2 points for mitigation and cooperation

Perhaps I didn't make myself clear. By public I just meant that was it known beforehand that Coventry were number 1 and Man Utd. were no2 etc. That's all.
Has to be known to everyone just by knowing the order of the fifth round draw

4 points deduction is really the minimum the PL can give if only to save it's reputation and 4 points is a fair deterrent.
Anything less would be a mockery and the PL know that.
It's not a PL decision and they have the same rights of appeal as do Forest.

The ball hadn’t gone out of play had it? He stopped the game with the ball still in play. I assumed on that basis they must have already checked the offside? Just seen it back, we've just cleared the ball down the line and he blows with it just inside the Longside touchline around ten yards inside ...

I'm not sure Stockport's fortunes changed that day. Didn't they get promoted the following season?
I'm sure they didn't - although it did take them another three years to get promoted after which they had five years in the second tier.

The weasel in charge at Notts Forrest will try every trick in the book to get out of this one. Had they accepted Brentford's £30 million offer for Brennan Johnson there would have been no case to answer. They waited a month and got double that from Spurs but went past the accounting period. I'm not...

Wonder why it wasn't six. Feels very much like they are making it up as they go along. Different panels might affect it but from what I can understand the Forest situation was nothing like as bad as Everton. And if they can persuade a panel to understand the Johnson situation then they could win th...

Everton getting 10 points and then 4 points back, now Forest getting 4 points, premier league don’t have a clue what they are doing, setting it up nicely to just fine Man City
Not done by the Premier League. It’s always an independent panel.

But they weren't going to disallow the goal to give the foul so we don't know what the outcome of that review of a possible foul by Muric would have been.
The goal would have been ruled out and a penalty given is what I’m told as daft as that seems

Decision still awaited but sometime this week.Likely on the 20th to bury it in the CPI for February on that date.
A good time to bury bad news?

I think Muric got a bit lucky there. Could easily see that being a penalty but not judged as they socred with a goal he could do nothing about. But they did judge it and that's why we had the long wait. They were still checking for a potential foul by Muric when the goal was scored and that check h...

Didn't that exact scenario happen against Bournemouth a few years back? They chalked off the goal and gave us a penalty didn't they?
Totally different though in that the penalty award was going to the team who had been penalised by a goal being scored

So, first of all, they would have deemed the foul worthy of a check and delayed the restart of the game if the ball went out of play. Then they would've checked the APP (Attacking Phase of Play) - was there any fouls, handballs in the build up etc Then an offside, I've not seen the full build up to...

How refreshing to hear a manager saying that he had no complaints about the two refereeing decisions that went against his team even though they were clear and obvious he didn’t try to make puerile excuses or say he didn’t see the incidents unlike some managers though he wasn’t happy with the Fofan...

Had it not been for them scoring, I did wonder if VAR would have looked at the Muric challenge on Toney. He seemed to go through the back of him to claw the ball away a few moments earlier. They did actually look at it which is why we had the wait before restarting. What a farce it would have been ...

I presume the numbers 1-4 for the teams were made public before the draw was made. Didn't hear them myself so just curious.
Don't need to make them public - they are allocated from the order of the fifth round draw.

20000 people saw it. If you can't sort offside in 30 seconds, it should be inside. Players with big noses are being picked on! I don't believe the offside check theory - four defenders (including the goalkeeper) were playing Vitinho onside. It would have taken one look to confirm that. AND they wou...

Sort of expected the silly marks for Muric, but come on, let’s have some balance. He played well, we’ve missed what he brings, but 10’s, “out of this world”, give over!!
Totally agree and turning the player ratings into a farce

It's a shame that a player suddenly gets elevated when he's scored a couple of goals. It's not that many years ago people were screaming for Ntumba Massanka to be given a chance in the first team. Tweedy has been out injured for a long spell this season and is starting to play more regularly now in ...
