Sounds like the move away has done them good. Hope they win at Wembley James played in League Two for Mansfield and Alex in Leagues One and Two for Morecambe, Bury, Chesterfield and Grimsby but now in the National League and doing well. Best thing for them was leaving us to get first team football ...

Funny thing is, the ones who would comment that seriously go awfully quiet when you suggest that they could organise such a do themselves in aid of BFCITC, should they wish. Its a big do, to raise funds. It really is a no brainer to do it where they do. It shouldn't, imo be instead of a Player's aw...

Take away some cheesy lyrics, in their second language, and the music is fantastic. They even wrote some great lyrics. The Winner Takes It All and Supertrouper being up there. Re: If VK is made director of football who is our manager?

I'm firmly of the view that we need a director of football/technical director/sporting director - but its not Kompany. Its someone who can challenge and peer review Kompany’s thinking (as Head Coach) from an informed perspective, particularly when it comes to transfer strategy. Concentrating so muc...

Re: Who's done enough to get a move?

I tend to agree with this but I'd also expect us to be shifting at least 2 centre backs this summer as we have far too many. Plus Brownhill and Roberts whose contract situations make them likely departures. If the question is who has enhanced their reputation this season so as to generate a profit,...

Good read Tony and we are definitely gone now, like **** down the River. We were awful and I almost predicted what would happen against a team that was almost as bad as us but were organised with some good defenders. I'd allowed myself to get a bit carried away with not losing in four games. I real...

Can’t score him as I didn’t go but it was a definite red card for me. Also thought we got lucky as I expected a penalty to be be given against us, can’t remember who our player was that caught their player, maybe Jay? Seen it all now - still a red for me and we were perhaps fortunate to avoid a pen...

They have to preserve the 'Cottage' by order I believe - it would make development difficult.
Both the cottage and the Stevenage Road stand are listed buildings I believe. That was always one of the issues at Highbury with two of the stands there listed buildings.

Bramall Lane dates back to 1855, i seem to recall, but don't know how old the stands are.
The two side stands and the away end have all been built since I first went. The Shoreham Street end was covered terracing then but I think it's a new roof at least.

As we visit Goodison tomorrow, for possibly the last ever time, it got me thinking how many old grounds/stands there are left. The Bullens Rd stand was opened in 1926. Are there any older?? I can only think of Kenilworth Road and maybe parts of Villa Park that remain in the Premier League Not sure ...
