Is it not more a case of where the players settle rather than like true fans eg myself and Ashington Claret and many more doing a lot of miles to get to the Turf because we supported the club as kids and lived in or near the Town?. There's a couple mentioned on the thread who were born Clarets - Brian Miller and Ashley Hoskin - and continued that support after leaving the club.
Brian continued to go on the Turf until he was taken ill and Ashley still goes on and has travelled to away games in recent years.
