Re: Who's done enough to get a move?

I tend to agree with this but I'd also expect us to be shifting at least 2 centre backs this summer as we have far too many. Plus Brownhill and Roberts whose contract situations make them likely departures. If the question is who has enhanced their reputation this season so as to generate a profit,...

Re: REPORT: Clarets suffer a damaging defeat at Everton

Good read Tony and we are definitely gone now, like **** down the River. We were awful and I almost predicted what would happen against a team that was almost as bad as us but were organised with some good defenders. I'd allowed myself to get a bit carried away with not losing in four games. I real...

This isn't ABBA but an ABBA song and I'm there for this filming at the Apollo in Manchester - some 32 years ago.

Re: RATE THE REF - Michael Oliver v Everton

Can’t score him as I didn’t go but it was a definite red card for me. Also thought we got lucky as I expected a penalty to be be given against us, can’t remember who our player was that caught their player, maybe Jay? Seen it all now - still a red for me and we were perhaps fortunate to avoid a pen...

James Clarke and Alex Whitmore

Two defenders who played in our youth and then under-23 teams before moving on. Both have played in the Football League and both are now playing for Solihull Moors in the National League. Besides being in the play-off positions for a potential promotion into the league, yesterday they won their FA T...

I’m not generally his biggest fan but thought he had an excellent game today. I haven’t seen the red card incident again so if he got it wrong then his marks might well have been lower than I’m giving.

Absolutely flat after that performance. To give a goal away like that with 20 seconds of the first half remaining was downright ridiculous and the second half performance wasn’t even inept. They have to preserve the 'Cottage' by order I believe - it would make development difficult.
Both the cottage and the Stevenage Road stand are listed buildings I believe. That was always one of the issues at Highbury with two of the stands there listed buildings.

Bramall Lane dates back to 1855, i seem to recall, but don't know how old the stands are.
The two side stands and the away end have all been built since I first went. The Shoreham Street end was covered terracing then but I think it's a new roof at least.

Re: Oldest Stands/Grounds

As we visit Goodison tomorrow, for possibly the last ever time, it got me thinking how many old grounds/stands there are left. The Bullens Rd stand was opened in 1926. Are there any older?? I can only think of Kenilworth Road and maybe parts of Villa Park that remain in the Premier League Not sure ...

Some superb defending from both O'Shea and Estève yesterday, looking like to Burnley style central defenders getting blocks in. Assignon is such a mixed bag of very good and not so good although his red card was ridiiculous. Fofana too can look some way short but then he scores and a player who can ...

Not played in 2024, and as you say close in January. Nothing said since other than he's progressing. I know I'm in the minority here but given his form this season I don't think he's been missed.
