Collins
I'll start by saying his been immense since he came in to the team but WTF is going through his mind there?? Absolutely ******* thick.
Re: Collins
Instinct probably. He'd just got out of jail a minute earlier too.

Oh well let's hope Brentford do us a favour because we ain't scoring today
Re: Collins
Gutted for him. Showed his inexperience.
Re: Collins
Stupid error and very poor in possession which lead to the corner.
He made up for it second half, he was like a man possessed.

He’s a young player who’s been immense leading the defence in the absence of Tarks and Mee.Hedontplayforyou wrote: ↑Sun May 22, 2022 6:13 pmCan’t blame inexperience on deliberately handballing it in your own box. Moronic , set the mood for the first half
He will grow because of this journey.

A naive mistake of a top prospect who has played far more than he would have expected this season.

Re: Collins
If you can’t criticise that kind of mistake then what can you?
He’s a top player, and he’s he’s young, but nothing makes you do that. I’m not saying we would have won the game had that not happened , but it certainly put us on the back foot

He's been excellent and will be brilliant.
He made a stupid mistake. shouldn't have given the throwin-away cheaply just before it, either.
He is someone to build a team around. Will he stay?

Re: Collins
I'm not criticising him as a player I just cannot fathom why he put his fist towards the ball. I guess when our brains are frazzled we all do weird things. Gutted for him tbh.
Re: Collins
We didn’t lose just because of that error, of course it didn’t help, but it didn’t set the tone. We were poor from the off, very poor. We didn’t actually start to play until they scored their second.
Let’s not stick blame for that defeat on a hugely promising youngster who has been fantastic for us. We need to build our squad around the likes of Collins, next season.

Apartment giving away the pen and a couple of shaky moments further half he was immense today. I hope Roberts was watching him to see what an attack hing fullback/wing back should do

Re: Collins
Such a shame. There was a nervousness running through the whole team in the first half and Newcastle knew this. Collins panic handball just after he’d unnecessarily tried to shield the ball in the six yard box just before were the clearest signs of this.

Re: Collins
Thought he looked good enough to play in midfield today.
Re: Collins
I suspect the handball was maybe a brain fart partly caused by Collins not recovering mentally from the initial poor error in possession that led to the corner (even though it was then his sharp reactions to clear after Pope's save).
I'm also happy to give the lad a pass given how he played second half, and the fact he was against one of the league's sharpest wingers in ASM, in his first PL game at right-back. I know he played RB a bit for Stoke but I can't understand that decision at all. And as much as Collins improved after the break, taking off Long and moving Collins and Roberts back into their normal roles surely made more sense?
