There’s a guy down at Wycombe that got 17 goals and 7 assists last year. Reckon he could do a job.
Im sure he will, but he's not an established Championship goalscorer

Knight would be an impressive signing but we've probably left it far too late... We had the chance a few seasons ago when we were last linked to him and I would be very surprised if we were to beat some of the bigger clubs for his signature.

I’m honestly not bothered about missing out on Muleka. Can’t help but feel as though he was a risk. Could have obviously paid off but who knows. Would much rather see us go in for an established championship goal scorer.
Unfortunately, the chances of us signing an established, proven goalscorer at this level are slim and none and slim's out of town!.. Whatever striker we decide to buy, it's going to be a gamble with a large element of risk.

I don't think there should be any WP problems for Muleka. My understanding is that anyone who played regularly in Belgium or Turkey last season should qualify for one with no issue at all and he did both.

Muleka deal has problems according to Boden. Linked with Cullen and a young goalkeeper from Belgium. Jason Knight linked too.
Boden will just be going off what HLN said

Watford and Boro are battling out to get Adam Armstrong on loan. Surely we'd be in with a chance there.

Boden’s ‘sources’ or ‘information’ are usually from other outlets/pages on Twitter rather than from someone inside the club. So I would be extremely surprised if he knew anything more than the next man at this stage.
Being local, he's also the sort of reporter the club might use to put out stories to force a player or agents hand. You just give him the odd truth every now and again to give him at least a semblance of credibility and people will believe his word over others.

I believe Armstrong has quite a close relationship with Rovers fans and hence quite an unlikely one

I also think Muleka would be a risk, but for a realitively low fee, compared to an established championship goal scorer

What's your issue with him?
A good servant to the club, and played a big part in our PL survival in previous seasons.
I'm not a huge fan of his style personally, but I have no ill will towards him whatsoever.

Who are you talking about?

Jay Rodriguez has only played one season at this level in the last decade, granted he got 22, but to be 'established' at this level he'd have to play a few seasons at least

Ashley Barnes' best season at this level was 11 goals.

Matej Vydra is now a free agent

Weghorst and Cornet are both unlikely to be here and have never played at that level.

We're down to two strikers, both of which are either inexperienced at this level or haven't got results.

Exactly Barnes will be an handfull along with Rodriguez who both won't play all season but will score, then there's vydra deadly at this level when back, he'll probably play after the world cup, he'll be like a new signing, these three will play alongside Twine etc

Past performance is no guide to future performance.

If they get the supply, I would find it hard to imagine Jay/Ash/Twine/McNeil could have better seasons and their goal returns.

Kompany’s system needs pace up front for movement in behind. A new striker needs to be at the top of the priority list. Barnes is ok as a 4th choice, hopefully Richardson is before him.

I was talking about Rodriguez, but both him and Barnes will score plenty in the Championship.

Did you forget the two seasons Rodriguez had in the Championship with us, where he scored 14 and 15 goals?

Maybe so, but I don't think you can class either of them as established and proven at this level.

14 and 15 goal seasons, how old was he 20ish?

Hi UTCFCBK, what is it about the Championship that is so special that footballers who've played at a higher level are at a disadvantage when they are playing against footballers who've no experience of playing in the Premier League?

No disadvantage, but between them they've played 15 Premier League seasons and only twice reached double figures.

I never said they wouldn't score goals at that level.

I said they are not 'established' or 'proven' Championship goal scorers.

Like you said FWI, he's more of a copier than a supplier of information, but tbh most of twitter is just that unfortunately. Added to that you have agents/players leaking stuff to get their names out there (Stephens article) or improve their negotiations, and then just a host of attention seekers just throwing random **** out there to get clicks/followers - if just one comes true they are seen as being "in the know" when in reality they know sweet FA.

Nixon is seen as a messiah, but in reality he uses all of the above tactics so whilst is hit rare is higher, he's also peddling a lot of crap or being used/paid by agents - when stuff doesn't happen, he just says things have changed to cover his story (and the majority can't be disproved so he gets away with it).
I agree completely with what you say about Nixon, it's like the old adage, if you throw enough darts at the board chances are one will hit the bullseye 🎯

Got to say that Nixon has been spot on this window with all four signings, being the first to break at least a couple of them.

It's clear he knows one or two agents rather than someone within the club.

He's not said anything about Mukela and Bastien.

He may well have done, but if I may refer back to my 'darts' comment.
As far as exclusives go, Nixon is light years behind the likes of Fabrizio Romano.

Nixon is easily the best when it comes to Burnley.

Fabrizio Romano much better when it comes to the wider picture, bigger clubs and European business.

Not for burnley though, or British internal transfers, so a pretty irrelevant comparison

Nixon gets all his info from agents.

Derby fans worked out all his info was coming from Stretford on the Derby saga (Rooneys agent)

1. They cover completely different clubs 2. Fabrizio Romano gets labelled a tap in merchant as he just confirms stuff that’s already out there 3. Your darts comment is bizarre, he broke all 4 of our signings, no one else did, fact 4. Any other links may or may not happen, there may be interest but the transfer doesn’t get serious, he’s just reporting interest at first

Aside from all the above, you are spot on

It didn't take long for yet another thread to turn in to bickering from the same people yet again, and 1 renamed. Guys you seriously need to get a grip or a job and stop taking the board down to a level that should only be found in the school yard. Can we just please leave the bickering away from this thread before this 1 goes the same way as the last one.

Instead of taking a risk with unproven strikers surely a season loan deal for Woods makes sense ? All parties happy ? With Twine, JB and Mcneill providing ammo he might get 15 plus.

I was talking about Rodriguez, but both him and Barnes will score plenty in the Championship.

Did you forget the two seasons Rodriguez had in the Championship with us, where he scored 14 and 15 goals?
We mightaswell get Charlie Austin back in then, he scored a few for us as well.

I don't think there should be any WP problems for Muleka. My understanding is that anyone who played regularly in Belgium or Turkey last season should qualify for one with no issue at all and he did both.

Who is bickering? When someone wades into a civil discussion and accuses those people of bickering, why doesn't that person realise that they are in fact the one bickering? The irony appears to be lost on you.

Personally, I'm sick of seeing someone use the word bicker every ten minute on here, it's completely stifling discussion and taking this board down to the level you talk about.

Makes sense. Standard Liege will be a band 1 club, which is why Bastien deal can continue.

He gets 10 points for playing for a band 2 club. He also gets points from the table in the top right of this tweet for playing % of minutes for a band two club. Given he played 19 times for Standard (also a band 2 club) and 12 times for Kasimpasa I'm assuming he is at least in the 40-49% bracket which would get him the 5 extra points needed.

Surely if we are even making a bid for a player, we know if there is a good chance of a work permit or not? If someone on twitter can work it out. Unless there is a subjectie element of an appeal.
