Nothing to fear if he can't replicate his form from last time he was in the championship.
This has always been his level when it comes to scoring in a real numbers.

Don't know if it's been reported on here but BE saying visa issues for Darko. Couldn't have his medical here on Monday, so taking place tomorrow in Paris.
Presuming it's just a timing thing, and it won't stop us from buying him.

Nixon running a story that VK is happy with his strikers

Nothing really new in the article other than his quotes post match last night saying he doesn’t want to / can’t afford to just store up players

Perhaps the hope is Richardson gets fully fit and can make the step up as an option too?

A lot of people have been saying Churlinov will be the striker we need but I must be missing something

From what I’ve read he’s been played mainly as a winger and has scored 5 goals in 48 appearances

It’s Burnley regardless how how good the windows are we are always missing something, it’s usually a winger but this season it’s a striker

If Rodriguez stays fit for the entire season, we possibly don't need another striker - but recent history would say that is unlikely I feel. I cannot see Barnes contributing much of anything in the way of goals so I really do feel we need another, if we see Twine as more of an attacking midfielder.

Stoke have just brought a winger, Fosu from Brentford, in. With having Dwight Gayle already they look at lot healthier up top end.
It will make guaranteeing Delap game time even tougher. They have young Campbell too, who we showed interest in

I can’t see us buying another striker. Jay was a machine last night, big, physical with great movement and unlike Barnes had 4 shots. He is a class above this level and the last time he failed to get 20 goals at this level he was a nipper. Like many, he finds goals scarcer in the PL.

But as others say his injury record is a risk but we wouldn’t leave him out if fit (he is far better all round than a 19 year old Delap even if Delap will become a star later). So I bet we are thinking Churlinov and Twine who can both play as a false 9 if needed. Barnes as useful backup.

After churlinov, I can only see another cb coming in and the rest of the window will be loan moves for some of the young lads

Unfortunately going off recent history it’s unlikely both Jay Rod and Barnes will be fit for the whole season. Kompany referenced having to manage Jay Rod this season. I’ll be amazed if we don’t bring in another out and out striker.

Ok saying Churlinov (left winger) might be able to ‘fill in’ if necessary at centre forward, but, has he ever played there at a reasonable level and, if yes, what are his CF stats?

Imo, if we don’t sign a strong, fast, direct, ruthless CF in the next few weeks we won’t be in the top 6 at the end of the season.

Just my humble opinion of course...

I really think this team will click soon and just watch us go. Goals breed confidence and a few more names on the sheet and we will be some team.

As Stan would say; a blind man on a galloping horse can see we urgently need another centre forward. Hopefully we get one in before the weekend.

I think unless Stoke City start winning games soon, starting v Boro tonight which won't be easy, Michael O Neill will start to come under huge pressure

All gone very quiet, hasn’t it?

Cannot make my mind up whether VK’s striker comments are a ploy to keep prices down/striker morale up, he genuinely doesn’t want one or we can’t afford one.

Being reported by a Macedonian journo that Darko's visa problem has been resolved, the Visa is issued and he is flying in this afternoon for medical. We need him registered before 12 noon tomorrow to lineup against the Tangerines 🍊

Barnes and JRod will score plenty in this division but not playing as a lone striker. We need a pair of strikers whoever they might be.

Must be hurting him not being involved anymore... sad.

You mean they're selling their crown jewels surely not.

In all seriousness losing Dennis, Pedro and Sarr severely depletes them as a promotion threat, just a pity it didn't happen last week.

You'd assume they'd be eyeing up incomings, but it'll be tough to replace all 3 like for like.

If Churlinov trains Thurs and Fri I’d be tempted to start him in the Bastien role on Saturday. He’s played football this season so will be match fit. Tella wide right.

Will they? They bought Bayo for 5m this summer and he hasn’t even been allowed to be named on the team sheet due to home grown rules! Without mentioning he was signed from the Belgian 2nd league. Keinan Davies who they just signed was recently described as a donkey by KRBFC.

As much as it has been painful watching Collins, McNeil, Pope etc leave, I'd much rather it happened early so giving us time to use that money rather than lose them with so little time left before the window closes.

We either sign a proper goal scorer or we settle for a season trying to get the team to gel and finish top 6 at best.

The latter is fine if we then go up next season.....

I take your point but I'd hardly describe as that being optional with the circumstances (not going any further) not that you were implying differently.

Think you will find most of Watford players come from the other clubs that are owned by the Pozzo family.

Will they? They bought Bayo for 5m this summer and he hasn’t even been allowed to be named on the team sheet due to home grown rules! Without mentioning he was signed from the Belgian 2nd league. Keinan Davies who they just signed was recently described as a donkey by KRBFC.
Their signings are a mixture of experienced and unknown to English football.
So I'd agree they're hardly ready to go

We either sign a proper goal scorer or we settle for a season trying to get the team to gel and finish top 6 at best.

The latter is fine if we then go up next season.....
might be a lot tougher though if lets say Southampton, Everton and Bournemouth drop. The Championship is very weak this season imho, I've not seen a stand out team yet (granted it's early days). I'd like the owners to see that and put up that little bit extra to get a ready made player, like an O'Hare.

Good point made by Nixon asking there the money is that we where willing to pay for O’Hare, Kompany alluding to funds but surely we have 8-10mil to spend on a striker
