Can we concentrate on winning the Cup ?
Can we concentrate on winning the Cup ?
Promotion looking almost certain. Huge squad of players. 2 very winnable home games to reach round 6. Get a decent draw and who knows. We have not had a better chance to go all the way for a very long time. Promotion and a big cup run. Now that would be a season !!
Re: Can we concentrate on winning the Cup ?
Ipswich seemed to play their first team yesterday. Maybe acknowledging they have little chance of beating us on Tuesday. We can still put out a very strong side though whilst resting players.

We can certainly make the last 8 after that who knows, but you've got to be in it too win it.
No reason why we can't give the cup a real crack given the position we're currently in.

With a bit of luck who knows what could happen? City drawing United in the quarters would make it interesting.

I think the draw will be fixed to avoid that at this stage of the competition as per usual but Burnley should play their strongest side for all games...this could be the season to end all seasons...I can dream cant I?

West Ham did it back in 1980 as a second tier club, didn't they?
Claret and Blue, this is the year of the pheasant as it was back then also, any other similarities?

I’ve got a feeling that Tuesday, and the 5th round game should we get through will be much harder games than recent league games.

West Ham beat Arsenal in the final, Arsenal had finished 4th in the First Division that season. This season United and Spurs still in the cup who could finish 4th in Premier League, beat either one of them in the final 1-0.

We have a team capable of beating anybody right now

A quarter final place should be achieved - that is not underestimating our opposition, it’s a fact based on the way the draw has panned out.
Get a good draw in that game, and there’s every chance of a trip to Wembley for a semi final. That would be a brilliant occasion, whatever the score and whoever the opposition. Kompany is a winner and I fully believe he will be looking at this draw and seeing the opportunity there for us. He’ll be taking it very seriously.

West Ham's manager at the time was John Lyall, who like Vincent Kompany was born on the 10th of Aprilclaretburns wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 4:55 pmWest Ham beat Arsenal in the final, Arsenal had finished 4th in the First Division that season. Cannot rule out winning the cup however unlikely, we could beat anyone on our day except City away. Not sure VK would welcome the Europa League in his first PL season but we would
More realistically there is a great chance of getting to Wembley for a semi.
So, yes, go for it. Relegation form 1 pt per game leaves us on 82 - that may be enough.

If we get to the QF we should 100% be putting our strongest team out.

If there is a conspiracy of hundrreds if not thousands of people to ensure all results go as planned, then it hardly matters which team we play. Could you tell me exactly what it is about Rachel Brown, for example, who did the fourth round draw, that makes you believe she is a crook? The whole idea seems laughable to me.

Jermaine Jenas and Alex Jones from the One Show are both in on it.dsr wrote: ↑Sun Feb 05, 2023 6:10 pmIf there is a conspiracy of hundrreds if not thousands of people to ensure all results go as planned, then it hardly matters which team we play.
