Harry Kane.
Harry Kane.
What a season he’s had. Harland has rightly taken the plaudits but Kane is just something special. I hope Levy does the honourable thing and lets him go now, he deserves a top team. Knowing or rather reading about Levy it’s unlikely he’ll sanction a move but what an inspiration Kane is for both his team and his country. So, which team will be his next one. Man U is my guess, your thoughts?

Re: Harry Kane.
I think individual honours and records are more memorable than team trophies. Alan Shearer is known way more for his goal scoring records than he is for winning the title with Basturds

Re: Harry Kane.
Harry Kane has scored more goals on the final day of the PL season than any other striker.

Re: Harry Kane.
Skybet had a special on him to score the first goal in all the PL games today. Just home from two nights in Bridlington to see Pulp so it's paid for our trip.
Re: Harry Kane.
If I were him I'd be tempted to run my contract down and give myself more options.

Re: Harry Kane.
Might fancy a return to Arsenal, that would go down like Sol Campbell on steroids.
Maybe we should get him, loan him to Manure to cover the fee and have him ready for our push for a European place the season after.

Whilst I'm sure he likes all the personal accolades, having no silverware must rankle with him, especially when someone like Vardy has a PL title and cup medal.

Re: Harry Kane.
a few rumours knocking around about Tuchel wanting him at Bayern, pretty much nailed on to win trophies with Tuchel and Bayern. Also Levy's preference would clearly be to sell abroadGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 9:18 pmThey're the only two that need a top quality striker too
Re: Harry Kane.
City could afford him no problem if they really wanted him. But thet don't really need him. And Newcastle obviously.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 9:17 pmthere are only Man Utd and Chelsea that could afford him in the PL
Re: Harry Kane.
Newcastle have greater needs elsewhere. DM, LB top of the list. Plus they will pick up some younger prospects for depth now that they have six extra games to play next season.

A move to Germany wouldn't be a bad one, he'd win some silverware and at least have more than a goal record to show for his career

What were Pulp like? Seeing them in Scarborough but thought the setlist looked pretty poor with too many songs from their last two albums and nowhere near enough from His 'n' Hers and the surrounding singleswhat_no_pies wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 8:59 pmSkybet had a special on him to score the first goal in all the PL games today. Basically 3 songs from their best period and no Razzmatazz or Lipgloss as well as not throwing something like Joyriders, Acrylic Afternoons or His 'n' Hers which were all regulars when they reformed 10 years ago

How much did you put on him??
Re: Harry Kane.
Aside from his goal scoring ability his passing is as good as anyone's in the Prem. Whenever he goes back into midfield his ability to pick out a pass is second to none.beddie wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 8:22 pmWhat a season he’s had. Re: Harry Kane.
I’m not sure 2 Bundasligas to his name would mean more than being the Premier Leagues all time top goalscorer. Staying in England would be the wiser choice. Man Utd would be far more if a threat to City with him. Stay in England, get the league record, Spurs and England goal scoring records. Even with no silverware, that’s a pretty top class career. Look at Shearer, regarded as one if the best to do it but only won 1 title.

Re: Harry Kane.
A backwards step, lesve him to Man United or Chelsea, he's far too old to fit our team profile nowadays
Re: Harry Kane.
If he waits a year somewhere like Real Madrid might become an option, or could see how things are developing at United, Chelsea or Newcastle.

Superb show. Jarvis had the crowd in the palm of his hand. Scarborough should be brilliant. Hope you have an amazing time.Devils_Advocate wrote: ↑Sun May 28, 2023 11:12 pmWhat were Pulp like? Re: Harry Kane.
I had a fiver of my hard earned plus a £5 free bet on at 40/1.
Couple of meals in the very reasonable air bnb we shared with 4 other couples and a day on the beach kept the cost to a minimum so yeah, I reckon the win has covered it nicely.

Re: Harry Kane.
Sounds like he is staying at Spurs and running his contract down. Cant see Spurs winning anything next season. Harry is 30 in 2 months and at the end of his contract will be nearly 31.Cannot see him being as wanted in 12 months, and certainly don't see him getting medals at Spurs. He has been at Spurs nearly 20 years. Had the chance to join Man City prior to them buying Harland and no doubt his agent could get him a great contract at Man Utd this Summer. Just my personal opinion but I think he lacks real ambition by staying at a club who are struggling to interest a new manager. Am I on my own thinking this ??
Re: Harry Kane.
If he hasn't signed a new contract he'll be a free agent in 12 months time and he'll be in demand more than ever. He'll have his pick of any club in Europe. No club will turn him down if they don't have to pay a fee.warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 8:26 pmSounds like he is staying at Spurs and running his contract down. Re: Harry Kane.
Will he though Spijed be in more demand ?. He will be 31 then.He is not quick now and will certainly not be quicker in 15 months when the new season starts. If he did not go to Man City a few years ago, and Man Utd this Summer, I certainly dont see him being the type to go abroad. He strikes me as a bit of a "homebird"
Re: Harry Kane.
And a lack of speed has meant he'll still score loads of goals for quite a few seasons yet as it hasn't affected his career to date. That's why Lewandowski and Benzema have been able to carry on playing at the top level whilst in their mid 30swarksclaret wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 9:18 pmWill he though Spijed be in more demand ?. I can't believe that Kane was 40/1 to be first goalscorer in the PL when they were only playing Leeds.what_no_pies wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 8:39 amI had a fiver of my hard earned plus a £5 free bet on at 40/1.

Did he have his hands tied behind his back and his right leg tied to Son's left leg?

Re: Harry Kane.
He was 50/1 when my brother phoned me about it. By the time I checked they were still boosting his odds but had dropped to 40/1. Not long after they were boosting Salah instead.
Kane normally around 3/1 to score first in a game and 10 games playing so the price wasn't that lofty really. Like you saod though, Leeds as opposition made it apoeal as did his recent form anx the fact it coukd have been his final game for them.
Heard he'd scored on the radio moments before going into the Tyne Tunnnel. Was nervous wait to find out if it had been allowed and whether anyone else had acored before hin.
