People moaning about us being unable to compete in the Premier league then moaning about a ticket price increase by the 19th (out of 20) least expensive STs in the PL need to take a look at themselves. I know most people aren't in both camps but a number are.

I know times are tough financially for most of us, me included, BUT, times are tough even for a £160m company in a league where £160m is chickenfeed, where Spurs can sell a player for £125m and still increase their ticket prices for their fans and not give any discounts for over 65s, where clubs see nothing wrong with their owners chipping in another wad of spare change to help them compete, where the notion of FFP is that it should not apply to them because they've always spent too much!

Football clubs are businesses, and if they want to compete at the highest levels they have to pay the going rate. We have tried, I believe, to do it 'on the cheap', with wage and bonus levels below average meaning the players you get are not, generally, in the top echelon. Headline transfer fees are 1 thing, revenue expenditure and commitment is entirely another.

These claims are always made as though it's definitive proof, almost not realising that we didn't do this when we were competing at the highest level? Groundbreaking eh?

ST prices are a drop in the ocean compared to TV revenue. They spaffed far, far more on agent fees etc than the income differential with the price increases.

Also, you put up with this then in another 2/3 years you will all of a sudden be paying significantly more (way outpacing wage inflation) than you were 5 years prior.

My cynical self tells me this is a means to reduce the Seniors concession differential, year by year.

Considering the minimal income from ticket sales, versus TV/Parachute, it is penalising the long term faithful.

If you wish to try and expand the younger supporters then the smaller increase for them not only keeps them but may entice younger newer supporters. If I decide not to renew due to the price increase then that ST could well go to a younger supporter increasing revenue and maybe catching a supporter for the next 20 years and within those 20 years I will be gone and so maybe CT and many others over 65.

To add to this I’ve been told that the back two rows of the Jimmy Mac Lower are now going to be hospitality. There’s about 12 of us who has sat together forever and we don’t have seats for next season . We used to sit where the current hospitality seats are in the JML and had to move to our current seats when they were created. Contacted the club and they are going to come back with options. To be fair the person I spoke to was very sympathetic and optimistic that they can sort something out for us. UTC

It’s let me renew our seats which are the row in front of the hospitality ones, bang in the middle of the goal……………….no message regarding having to move. I guess it’ll be a case of turning up on the first day of next season to find our seats not there, and the club will just shrug its shoulders …..

Think those affected are on the last two rows at the back of the lower section on the wings. Don’t think they are extending the section down the stand. They are expanding sideways. Hopefully you will be ok. Cheers

If season ticket price increases in the prem were approx 25% for all teams then our price increase would be one of the smallest so maybe we should just compare our price rises with other clubs this season and next season. I don't think we would narrow the gap against other clubs in £'s.

Further proof that Burnley fans want everything for nothing. They could give free season tickets and some of our fans would still moan that they have to pay for a halftime brew.

It's not really about people wanting something for nothing. It's more about the very small financial benefit they gain from it whilst making everyone pay a bit more. It's not a good look and gives the impression of trying to wrangle every penny possible out of the fans to line the pockets.

It's clearly a PR own goal when we were in need of a boost as a fan base. Instead It's a kick in the balls and increases the distrust and connect between fans and owners.
They also deserve to take the hit financially after the absolute balls up they've made this season in terms of the match day experience

Might be an over reaction but my slight rant and feelings I have about it all -

The once blurred line between BFC as a local community club and its takeover by American v̶u̶l̶t̶u̶r̶e̶s̶ financiers is becoming more and more apparent with each passing day.

I'll always love the club but I find myself contemplating not bothering going on anymore. I can't always get on these days after having a ST for years - one off tickets were up at £45-65 for a game this season, ended up dropping circa £300 on just 5 games, all of which btw were convincing defeats.

The club should do more for local fans - we're a club that absolutely will rely on local fans when times aren't as good just as we have done in the past.

Burnley is hardly an affluent town - families especially are effectively being priced out going on the Turf right now and it's so important to bring young Clarets on to get the sort of 'drug' or buzz of going on and supporting BFC; it's easy enough for them to go and support a 'big team'.. Might not be apparent now but in 10-20 years it will be BUT wouldn't be the first time where MBAs and Finance dudes are short-term profit above all else...

Spot on mate, Americans don’t understand Burnley, this decision shows it. A run down crap hole with little opportunity and families living in poverty. A far cry from the bright lights of London, at big clubs with huge waiting lists.

A poor Town team should be doing their absolute all to give back to the community, young children who would love to attend but their skint single mother is working her arse off and can only just keep the lights on. The club would rather push them away than help provide a little light in their life.

Raise the price for what? An absolute pittance, peanuts compare to the income we received for the TV deal. The club needs young fans, the next generation, help them attend not rip them off.

The season ticket DD per month for an Adult ticket is probably the cheapest DD that comes out of most people's bank accounts each month when you look at gas, electricity, Broadband, sky tv, car insurance and council tax, my council tax is around £240 a month from this April

Assuming none of them change prices (which is quite an assumption) then our cheapest adult ticket (JM lower) at the new prices would be the 11th cheapest out of the 24 teams.

At this stage we have no idea whether it will be a success for the club. The extent of how many people choose to not renew will emerge in the next 2 or 3 years. You might not see that much of a reduction this season but if we fail to go back up next year I think you will start to see a significant drop off.

Affordability and success on the pitch are the only 2 reasons why we get bigger crowds than the likes of Blackburn, Preston, Bolton etc. If we continue to put prices up like the last couple of years and remain in the championship we will be back down to between 12 and 15 thousand attendance a week. Let’s see how many walk ons we get at £70 a game when we are 15th in the championship.
