Work Attire
In keeping with the modern guidelines of LGBTQTD dresscodes this last few days, I went to work wearing a tiara, tutu and high heels.
I got battered wi 't lads.

Re: Work Attire
After turning up to an interview for my current job in suit trousers, tie and jumper i was criticised for not wearing a full suit (didn't have one).
Upon starting the job was then roundly abused for 2 years for wearing a suit until I finally gave in and stopped wearing it.

Re: Work Attire
dress code, interesting subject that revolves around which country you are in and what profession to an extent.
Hubby complains they have a dress code which is actually smart casual in the USA, very rare for people to wear suits/ties except for the executives plus sales. However no jeans or things like mini mini skirts, they do a "casual jean Friday" where if you wish for $5 you can wear jeans to work, all money collected from this goes to a charity. However his complete is that nearly all clients at all levels working in the office come everyday in jeans and trainers.
Additionally he says there is a much higher % of people who wear smart with ties in the UK office than any other office around the world.

I went for an interview about a year ago dressed in a suit, Jesus I have never felt so out of place in my life, I was probably the oldest at 56 and everyone else looked like they were going to a Goth Fest, I didn't half feel stupid.

I do like living here for things like this. Due to start at a new place and sent an email to check dress code ahead of a few purchases of work gear:
"The usual dress code is business casual. Appropriate attire are neat and clean pants, sweaters, cardigans, jackets, t-shirts, jeans, sneakers, shorts, etc."

Re: Work Attire
My office has a dress code of suit pants and smart shirt. I actually usually wear the suit jacket and a tie as well. I just feel more professional that way. Look good, feel good and all that.
I used to work in an office with a dress down Friday and the pressure to wear your best clobber to the office was immense. Was like a fashion show every week. I just wanted to wear my scruffy jeans and a t-shirt or footy top, which I did eventually after realising I didn't care what people thought.

We have a dress down Friday at work and whenever I happen to be in the office on a Friday I usually have a pair of trackies (denim shorts in summer) and my Burnley shirt on, but you can tell that some people really make an effort to wear their best clothes.Falcon wrote:My office has a dress code of suit pants and smart shirt.
