the players likely to feature for Michael Duff's side, Dyche said: "Vyds will play, Robbie maybe not, still on the back of a niggle. Nothing too serious we don’t think.

"But Vyds will definitely play, Tom possibly, we can only play three and a keeper, Tom, Longy, Ben, and Vyds probably the four.

“Steven Defour is not ready, he’s going to be a number of weeks I think.

"Robbie is closer, but we still have to be careful, they’ve been out months and it’s important they come back with every chance to be up and running and not throw them back too quickly."
This as been changed to a behind closed doors venue. No details of the venue or the kick off time have been released.

Thought it was a knee/cartilage problem for Defour'. Whatever it was and now is,the sounds coming from the manager don't sound promising regarding a return for the midfielder.

Considering it is a league game that they originally announced would be played at Curzon Ashton, they've gone very quiet on this one. They've just said it has been moved to a behind closed doors venue but no clue as to where (but I bet it is close to Harry Potts Way) and no kick off time.

The longer Defour is out, the more sensible it would seem to get in someone of his ilk, who is available.

It doesn’t sound like Defour is going to be back in the short term and even then it’s going to take time to get back up to fitness and hope that he can stay fit for a while.

It’s this sort of situation that had me wanting an additional midfielder. One further injury and we are stating to look very short in such a key area.

All being well we will be fine but with games coming thick and fast, it’s a potential concern that might have been avoided.

I don't know but I suspect there are one or two trialists in the squad who didn't get sorted out with a club in the window. It would make sense then to keep it quiet.

I was obviously joking about Yaya Toure playing this evening but maybe it's another out of contract player(s) in our team tonight

Or maybe it is Yaya himself :)

Doesn't make any difference, you can play trialists in this league, we had a lot playing last season.

Have Cardiff announced this?

What do our media department actually do? They seem so be so far off the pace. It’s time that they caught up to the fact that we are a Premier League club.

Surely it depends on whether the players / agents themselves are happy for it to be known that they are doing a trial. At this time of yer there are some fairly respected names available, admitting they are accepting trials may not suit their potential negotiating positions with other clubs, should Burnley not be a fit.

Wide of the mark elwa on this one, I doubt it is anything to do with trialists.

On the Cardiff website. They have a whole preview article dedicated to the game tonight. Quite a good read. I do wish we’d get a bit hotter on that sort of thing. Be interesting to see something of Vydra tonight. Really could be the missing link in our team.
