Gets worse according to reports Bassini the guy who mucked Bolton about is interested in buying them.
yeah I posted about that on the MMT thread this morning - have thought about setting up a separate Oldham thread several times now, MMT thread has stuff on Oldham going back for a year or so now

Love the idea of "The Phoenix Club" - managed by Graham, not Brian, Potter ?

Bumped into a Bury fan who used to be a 46 game a season lad on the early morning dog walk this morning.

He shouted over, are you missing your football? You now know how I feel! I'm a few months ahead of you

Any significance in choosing Easter to re-launch?

I remember Accrington Stanley (1968) being formed, as well as Accrington Stanley (1962) folding.

Good luck.

Now this is Interesting - Capital Bridging Solutions, who own the mortgage on Gigg Lane - you know the one that put off all those who tried to buy the club last summer - has filed for Administration according to Companies House

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/comp ... ng-history

confirmation it is the same company

Has Steve Dale bought the Mortgage on the club from the administrators? no mention here - but he is suggesting they will be part of the National League set-up in the next season whenever that will be - there is still a long way to go before that can happen though

Very strange but surely no Bury fan would be daft enough to believe anything that comes out of Dale's mouth.

we all know how much people are prepared to leave things at the door when it comes to their football club surviving - somehow all rationality is removed and the emotion is everything.

I still believe if the financial crises of 2008 had been 2 years later - Brendan Flood would have had us in a very dodgy position with his bullish business practises. He has done well for himself, partly because he is so willing to take risks - I understand and accept that is a key component of becoming successful in business.

It must always be remembered that a football club is much more than just a business, it is a keystone of it's community, often it's heartbeat and a foundation stone of the economy in it's locality. That is what some of those Bury fans are clinging to.

I think Flood would have left us in a very dodgy position had we not got that promotion in 200. It seemed too good to be true when he came in but it was exactly that, too good to be true.

We just got lucky with the timing of everything, including those who followed and bought the majority of Flood's shareholding - and for that I am eternally grateful

Already been mentioned on here that they were coming in at tier 10. NWCL. I didn’t know the NWCL has Div1 N. & S.
Bury in Div.1 N, the surprise being Isle of Man FC enter in Div.1 S.

No, frankly. It’s presumably part of Steve Dale’s endgame but we’re jiggered if we know what that is.

Someone said they were playing Steeton next year who are playing at Marley in Keighley. My lad plays on there but it's not an enclosed ground.
It's playing fields with one pitch with a little fence around it that I presume they will play on.

Surely the real issue with Flood's money was the 2008 crash that wiped out his businesses. If that hadn't happened it would have been OK and nobody was predicting it at the time. Given what was known at the time, it would have been hard to walk away from his offer. It's only with hindsight that it was too good to be true, and in many ways it was Flood's money that started us off on our way to the Premier League. I don't think we would be where we are now without that initial boost.

Bury will find out next week whether they'll be successful in entering the National League in the North or South set up, 6th tier, however the phoenix club has already been accepted into the North West Counties League, surely if the original club is accepted the supporters will still follow the phoenix club and get away from the despicable owner they were lumbered with?

Words fail me. How deluded is this bloke?

If this was a series of the old Dream Team it would be funny but this is real, affects the lives of a lot of people be they staff or fans. It’s an absolute disgrace and someone needs to give him a quick course in writing.

Flood did very well out of Burnley FC re his loan repayment. At least now with our Premier league monies we are less at the mercy of directors personal monies funding our club and wanting it back when other business interests go belly up

Eh?
The administrators of Modus claimed the money back from the club, not Flood.

Latest statement from Dale:

They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, in my book it’s not, it’s being a fake to fool others.

Let’s be clear here for the avoidance of doubt as it would seem there are people trying to pass off fakes as the real thing, and spreading ill truths as these Trolls do:

1 BURY FOOTBALL CLUB FOUNDED 1885, HOW CAN YOU COPY THAT
2 “THE SHAKERS” ARE BURY FOOTBALL CLUB
3 GIGG LANE WILL ALWAYS BE BURY FOOTBALL CLUBS GROUND
4 THE CREST ABOVE IS TRADEMARKED TO BURY FOOTBALL CLUB

If you go on Bury market, buy a Suit off a stall, go home and sew an ARMANI label in it, does it make it an Armani suit?

Or you buy a pair of CALVIN CLINE boxers off another stall, but then there is always the bloke who has a pair of Calvin Klein on when your changing at the gym

WELL THEIRS YOUR ANSWER, A FAKE IS A FAKE HOWEVER YOU PACKAGE IT

There are alleged fans, then you have pure loyal till I die, BURY FOOTBALL CLUB FANS, who have stood by their Club and its ups and downs but are still steadfast knowing good things come to those who are Loyal

Solidarity is the most valuable commodity to a Football Club it gives it the pride to forge on (the Proms) keep the faith and remember….

“THERE IS ONLY ONE BURY FOOTBALL CLUB”

more on the mess that surrounds Bury, this time related to former owner Stewart Day and his business Mederco to whom Bury owed money - that debt was sold to a third party who have failed to pay for it - cue a number of wild guesses to who "bought it" and then didn't pay on the instalments
