FAO Clarets in Belgium
Goededag / bonjour / guten tag Clarets in Belgium!
I have recently moved to the fair city of Ghent. I have tried sampling the local football, but whilst it’s quite entertaining, it cannot replace my true passion.
Is there a club for Burnley supporters in Belgium? It would be nice to meet some fellow Clarets every now and then to watch a game together over a ridiculously strong beer!

Got Flemish friends living in Erpe-Mere who have a passing interest in BFC. Get them the odd shirt etc.

Missed this thread as I was deep in the ardennes for a couple of days.
I saw gent play a few years back at lokeren. That was while the new ground w as being built. It's all been a bit downhill more recently for lokeren - at least since dumping Hull out of the Europa Cup.

Nice. Not been to the Ardennes yet. Must get there soon. I take it you are based in Lokeren?timshorts wrote:Missed this thread as I was deep in the ardennes for a couple of days.

I was born in Charleroi but I moved away from Belgium more than 10 years ago. I'm now living in London.
By the way I support Lokeren !

The sixties Once went to Heist with school....seemed a real cool place with Bars on the front where we bought Guinness and Grenadine the girls were of that era real nice.. The shops sold flick knives and of all things swords!! Which were popular with the Glasgow lads ...who always had the same holiday weeks as Burnley people.nice memories....

ClaretGent - do you know of anywhere in Gent likely to be showing our game Sunday afternoon?

Re: FAO Clarets in Belgium
Hi there, sorry I picked up this thread somewhat late.
As BB correctly says, I live close to Bruges.
I do frequent the local Irish pub for an occasional pint of black gold, but usually don't follow matches there. When I'm not at the game itself, I'll be following all the action from my large screen satellite TV
PS: by the way, do not mention Lokeren to BelgiumBurnley at the moment

Re: FAO Clarets in Belgium
I'm away this weekend, otherwise would be happy to watch the game with you. You could try the Irish pub, Foley's (https://foleys.be/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;). Woody's also show a lot of football. Might be tricky though, as I think the Spurs match is on at the same timephilh2004 wrote:ClaretGent - do you know of anywhere in Gent likely to be showing our game Sunday afternoon?
