Guys FFS, if you want to discuss the ins and outs of anything apart from the current take over, go make another thread to discuss it. It is disgusting that a Manchester UTD player has taken precedence on the thread regarding the most important turn of event for our club in my generation. I really dont understand how it got this bad, and there would be uproar if the MODS got tough on it. But then that maybe the answer, 1 week ban for anyone who has to have a post removed.
I would rather watch the page number count than discuss man utd.

Do you realise how stupid that sounds? Real Madrid fans would tell you Gareth Bale is awful and the devil, must not be good enough for Burnley then.
When my posts reach the stupidity level of many of yours, i'll give up!

If we just focused on the proposed takeover we could knock 50 pages of this thread.

Neither for or against this transfer, and don't want to detract from the takeover theme, as I am as keen as everyone to hear news about it, but I hope the medical is extremely thorough. Back to the takeover, still no time limit, no real facts, just bits of info getting dripped in. No one still knows what the hold up is, or if they do, they are keeping their cards very close to their chest. Hoping for some significant information soon and some closure and hopefully we can kick on.

Well thankfully someone has started a January transfer window thread so hopefully this can return to its purpose of discussing the takeover or non-takeover as the case may be.

Sometimes people have to keep their cards close to their chests, it's often the case that it is those who are not shouting from the roof tops who know the most.

The £200million American takeover of Burnley is set to be signed off next week.

Sportsmail understands that staff at the club have now been told to prepare for a change of ownership.

ALK Capital, the sports investment firm fronted by financial guru Alan Pace, will receive Premier League approval to complete their deal.

They had faced competition from Egyptian businessman Mohamed El Kashashy and sports lawyer Chris Farnell, but sources have expressed doubt over the strength of that offer.

It has also been suggested that Clarets chairman Mike Garlick could remain at the club in the short term.

The arrival of new owners ahead of the January transfer window would be a welcome boost for manager Sean Dyche, whose side are currently third from bottom in the Premier League.

Garlick staying makes sense for a warm handover. But let’s hope that all differences between manager and board can be set aside.

A wonderful article. One assumes all the staff at the club are residents of North Korea and this announcement came as something of a surprise?

If you break that article down, and this is not a slight on the person who uploaded it, it reads like something a 14 year old could be asked to write if he or she were asked to produce a tabloid-style article on a subject based on things they could Google.

That differs significantly from what a very senior member of staff told a supporters group just three days ago.

I am convinced it is going to happen (ALK, not Farnell and the Egyptian) but something has changed if it is going to happen next week. I'll see what I can find out.

Sounds like when you can feel the warmth of the previous person's butt cheeks as you sit down on the can.

Quick question for CT you state above that a senior member of staff gave information to a supporters group on the takeover hold up, why then can't this information be shared on this board as after all aren't we all supporters

There is a line in the article that reports: "Sportsmail understands that staff at the club have now been told to prepare for a change of ownership." I have, this morning, spoken to staff in different departments and different levels and they definitely have not been told anything.

They want people working normally without fear of job loss etc.. until it's necessary to tell.

Exactly this. They'll be aware but won't have been told much, if anything. Though some are more aware than they're letting on. It's my understanding there'll be investment in the commercial side as well as Barnfield. With the emphasis on creating jobs, not cutting them.

This makes sense. A sports jorno is more likely to have contacts/sources within the coaching and playing staff. Also, the playing staff, in particular, are the ones who need to be encouraged to perform on the pitch and the ones, more than any others, who will be aware of the Jan transfer window and the desire to add to the club's playing strength in that window.

I'm sure everyone is the club is asking the question "how are the takeover talks going." If they're not in the "need to know" groups, they will, as all of us, have heard Neil Hart's statement. As others have posted, they may also have been asked not to say anything "outside the club."

Exciting times.

See my post above. I very much doubt whether the name attached to that article is a sports journalist either.

I’ll put this another way. The players have not been told anything.

Things change obviously but that’s what I learned earlier this week. As for the Mail report I know it is incorrect in suggesting staff have been informed.

Things change obviously but that’s what I learned earlier this week. As for the Mail report I know it is incorrect in suggesting staff have been informed.
Cheers. Can’t say I give any credence to anything published the Mail!

They may have got it correct, things might have changed in the last day or so but I know part of that report to be totally incorrect.

See my post above. I very much doubt whether the name attached to that article is a sports journalist either.

I’ll put this another way. The players have not been told anything.
Craig hope who did the report is the mails football correspondent with over 32 ,000 followers on twitter

Then you would hope he'd have produced something of better quality and of higher accuracy than that

I don’t think 32k followers adds to the strength of your argument, any idiot can have a Twitter following... my stepson has thousands because he’s a complete idiot.

I'm only saying it's from a creditable source that's all .

Clearly but his report is not accurate in terms of staff having been informed.
