Netflix - Pepsi where's my Jet?

Oddly fascinating true story recount of a lad who tried to get a Harrier jump Jet from pepsi in the 90's via their competition.

All series of the Blacklist have been on sky. Not sure how many, if any, would be on catch up.

I can thoroughly recommend Pachinko on Apple+ TV. It's in Japanese/Korean and in subtitles but don't let that put you off. Brilliant.

Binged Harry & Meghan over the last two days on Netflix, facinating insight into the workings off the Royal family,I find the hate directed at Harry & Meghan very strange indeed....well worth a watch.

Just finished season 2 - finish not quite as tense as season 1 but it was another good effort - apparently seasons 3 and 4 have been filmed back to back so we may get both in 2023 which would be great in the opinion of this poster

Just starting A Spy among friends on ITVX (formerly ITV Hub), not on the main channels it is a six parter about Kim Philby and stars Guy Pierce which in itself means it is worth giving a go

Just finished A Spy Among Friends...very good indeed though it needs pretty serious concentration and focus as it hops around between different time periods and at times it's difficult to work out who is spying on who at any given time (the answer is usually that everyone is spying on everyone else!). Guy Pierce as Philby and Damien Lewis as Nicholas Elliott, his betrayed long-standing friend in the British secret service, are superb, as are the general production values. Really good if you enjoy more "serious" espionage books and films.
Intersting to see Adrian Edmondsen...one time Vivian in The Young Ones...playing Sir Roger Hollis, the head of MI5.

just finished season 3 of Jack Ryan, hubby's choice, usual killing and murdering but surprisingly for him, no gratuitous sex within. While it would never be my choice I watched and enjoyed the plot line, although it has a few, shall we say, things that happen that are not really credible.

Does anyone else enjoy watching normal programs where they feature places they been at some point and it reminds them of good times/holidays? We ended up discussing our trips to Rome, Moscow and Prague and restaurants and sights we enjoyed.

Bank of Dave Film comes to Netflix tomorrow.

Looking forward to it seeing as its about our own local business man David Fishwick.

Clearly I can't recommend based on seeing it but I suspect there will be local sights and references to our club within it.

The trailer is set outsdie a pub in Leeds (duck and drake), albeit with a Burnley badge in the window. - Wonder if the landlord was aware when he/she agreeed to use their pub for a scene.

Can't say i've heard of much filming been done in burnley, other than at the turf & the library.

The Last of Us sci-fi drama series based on the bestselling computer game is getting plenty of advertising, available to watch in the UK on Sky and NOW TV, looks like they are only releasing episodes once a week.

Sorry Chester, really thought this was terrible. Completely implausible. I particularly laughed when the (terribly-acted) wife of the laughably youthful emergency Head of MI5 seemed to think it outrageous that he should take any phone calls outside normal office hours.

Fauda (on netflix) is a fantastic series about an undercover Israeli strike team operating in the Palestinian territories. Surprisingly even-handed and superbly exciting.

1883 on paramount. The story of how the Dutton family ended up building a ranch in what i
became known as Yellowstone national park. Most excellent. The husband & wife team of Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are really good as is Sam Elliot.

That should bring you nicely onto Yellowstone, again on paramount.

Kevin Costner, Luke grimes and the awesomely wonderful Kelly Reilly in a modern day tale of ranching in the very beautiful Yellowstone national park. Reilly steals every scene she’s in as the mean and moody Beth Dutton. Cole Hauser is great too as Rip, the lead hand cowboy. Best thing I’ve seen in ages.
I only watched a couple of episodes of Yellowstone but couldn’t get into it. However I thought 1883 was brilliant and
It didn’t matter that I hadn’t watched Yellowstone.

Currently really enjoying the next historical prequel which is 1923, also on Paramount, with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Although only 4 episodes so far with more due in February.

Last one presumably, hasn’t he been binned off after his comments about Meghan Markle?

If it’s half as good as the first, it’ll be worth watching.

I think his contract ends next year, so time to churn out another season hopefully.

Paramount +

Tulsa - Sly Stallone plays a recently released from prison mafia goon who gets sent to Tulsa to set up a new mafia system.

Seems good so far, I'm a couple of episodes in.

Also, the Paramount app is very clunky and slow it seems, they need to fix that
