Three recommendations, a bit all over the place.
On netflix,Tell me your secrets" twist after twist serial killer series, very good.
On prime, "Invincible", an anime super hero series.Very good, great voice cast and the end of the first episode will blow at least your socks off.
Also on prime, "Counterpart", a Berlin espionage series with a big difference.Just finished season one and it is damn good.

Sorry CP, this is Prime in the U.S, I did not realize it was not on prime over there. Our version of netflix has only recently made "The Serpent" available after hearing about it for months from friends and family over there. Strange how streaming sites are different in each country.

I had the misfortune of watching "pedal the world" a cycling documentary about a young german lad setting off on a long bike ride.
Absolutely nothing happens, no drama,no incidents, badly filmed, terribly edited.
I have more eventful rides along the canal for two hours than this bloke had in his entire trip.

Sound of Metal - on Amazon Prime.

Nominated for best film and best actor for Riz Ahmed at this years Oscar's

A genuinely brilliant film about a man who loses his hearing and the journey he goes through with it.
Riz Ahmed learnt American Sign Language and how to play the drums for this role.

Just watched Seaspiracy. Who knows how much scaremongering there is and some shock/over-exaggeration in prediction is probably involved, there always is. Nonetheless, it's a must for everyone to see. Not for the moral high ground but for education about how dirty and polluted our world is and the true impact on the ecosystem, including us, our seas have. Do we really appreciate the ocean/sea is the most important thing on this planet? Our fight against climate change, viruses, carbon omissions, etc, need to radically change and be directed towards our care for the seas if we are to believe this doc. It's unlikely to happen when the whole world is so corrupt and governments are involved but the plummeting of numbers of fish is truly staggering and quite scary especially the predators. Clearly, the fishing industry has been getting away with all sorts for too long a time. It's made me think about my habits even if I only have fish once a week or so.

The Shield on Prime, about a police department in Los Angeles. It's up there with the best shows I've ever watched, and it's not well known at all. Maybe overshadowed a bit because it was out around the same time as the Sopranos and the Wire?

Giri/Hari.
50/50 split Japan & London. Fair bit of subtitles but excellent Yakuza story.
8x1hr episodes that does come to a conclusion, so many don’t.

Loved The Shield ..one of my all time favourites.

Spiral..the French cop drama which has 8 series on the BBCiPlayer is magnificent.

Not sure where you can watch Homeland but the last few series are all superb you like espionage/political drama.

Netflix.
Just started a Spanish series The Innocent based on a Harlan Corben story.
Good start. Recommended by my eldest who is usually right.

EDIT.
Binge watched it, outstanding. Every episode gets 8+ on IMDB. A couple of loopholes but by the end they are explained.

We finished the Nevers last night, although we did think we’d missed an episode between 5 and 6.

I think it’s on I player , hugely underrated , small time 80’s “ hood” dealer gets into coke dealing and the early crack days and it’s spliced with a great Narcos style storyline with the ( true ) funding of the contras etc .

For those who have never seen it 70's classic BBC series Tinker, Tailor, Soldier. Spy with the incomparable Alec Guinness is about to start on BBC Four - it should also be on iPlayer too - first 2 of the 7 episodes tonight - an absolute belter for must see in my lifetime list
and for those too young to miss it - yes the country really was this grimy and run down back then
