North Water is excellent. Colin Farrell is superb. Best BBC series for a long time.
Cheers, I’ll get on it.

Another shout out for Bosch. A more recent one that we've just got into is Queen of the South (No, not the Scottish Championship team).

Haven't watched this season yet, but this is the final season that's been split into 2. A bit like Breaking Bad.

Yep it’s still the same season. Part 2 probably coming in a couple of months. It’s already been filmed.

I’m just pleased it is a final season. Much as I’ve enjoyed it any more and it becomes a soap. I gave up to Money Heist for that reason.

Winning Time - Rise of the Lakers Dynasty

This is on Sky/Now TV and as suggested, charts the rise of the LA Lakers Basketball team at the time they signed Magic Johnson.

It's actually pretty good, not in the style of the Jordan documentary.

Has anyone watched - Raised By Wolves
Directed by Ridley Scott.

Two androids are tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet; as the human colony threatens to be torn apart by religious differences, the androids learn that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task.

Just watched a true story film about the Siege of Jadotville, 150 Irish soldiers were sent to The Congo in 1961 after their Prime Minister was assassinated, a brilliantly told story and one of them stories where if you were told you'd never believe it was true.

A tad Rocky but with basketball - I think even the director realised it with the Rocky reference. Enjoyed it though.

Adam Sandler must be one of the worst actors in history , that said his “ uncut gems “ film was fantastic .

Quite enjoyed Lupin , complete nonsense ( think of the series Hustle ) but easygoing entertainment nonetheless .

I've been binge watching series 1 of The Rookie, starring Nathan Fillion.

Man decides to become a cop in LA when he's 40yrs old after an incident which causes him to re-evaluate his life.

It's easy watching, enjoyable etc.

3 seasons of it are on Sky/Now TV, there are a season 4 and plans for season 5

Not exactly going to be winning prizes as a Shakespearean actor is he? But then that's not what you're signing up for with one of his films. Has a net worth of 420-480M, so he's doing something right.

He writes, produces and acts in most of his films, so obviously very talented, just (quite understandably) not to everyone's tastes.

But, to answer the question... :) I watched The Northman on Peacock last week. Really enjoyed it. I enjoyed their treatment of the Norse faith and mysticism.

Just finished Stranger Things....disappointing end not wrapping things up at the end ....looks like another series in the offing....it was good watching the kids grow up in each series but at this rate they will be playing the characters as pensioners if they keep dragging out each series.
Any recommendations for a recent Netfix offering?

Next one is the last series - apparently with a time jump, presumably to the nineties, to account for them all growing up.

I dismissed it for years and only watched them all recently. A proper 80’s mash up of music, film and television.

Stranger Things turned into an absolute chore for me. Why did they make the episodes 1hr20 mins each in the final season? Dragged out a good concept far too much.

Other half has been keen to watch the final season. We’re near the end but I find myself switching off entirely - not sure when we’ll find the time to watch the final one!

Back to your previous question, I’m just about to finish Top Boy. Watched the first two seasons (been rebadged as ‘Summerhouse’ by Netflix) about 10 years ago but have only just got around to watching the most recent two. Won’t be to everyone’s taste but I think it’s v good.

Not Netflix or Prime but

If you can find it out there I would recommend The Old Man starring Jeff Bridges which comes to a conclusion this week

I am also looking forward to series 2 of Slow Horses with Gary Oldman later this year it was filmed concurrent with series 1 which finished last month

I watched The Undeclared War over the weekend - not bad at all from AllFour

and have just finished watching The Rook - which was interesting also on AllFour
